I'm sorry. I am including only currently manufactured brands; at least to my knowledge.

Re: Favorite car brand (excluding Buick)?

Interesting that I don't have one. I guess I am not a fanboy.

We all work too hard for our money imho to simply buy based on brand. Some that I see this happening with are Subaru, Cadillac, BMW, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, and the list could be a lot larger.

edit: If you took the makes that I've listed, here's how I see the brand loyalty allowing the mfg. to sell regardless of the product:

Honda
BMW
Subaru
Toyota
Cadillac
Nissan

Re: Favorite car brand (excluding Buick)?

I had a 1992 MX-5 Miata Black/Tan leather, totaled after 2 months in crash that broke my left femur. Purchased a 1993 MX-5 Miata Black/Tan leather, 1 month after the crashed one - owned it for 12 years - loved it, miss it.. But then again, I don't see MG in the poll list - I know, I know. current manufactures...

Maybe the only car I ever had a passion for was Volvo, had 3 of them and always wanted a P1800. But again circa 1993, the so-called safe cars couldn't pass the new crash standards (go figure) and were retired. Since then, they've built junk like most other car cos lol The 850 was so-so. Today? Yep. 55k 4 cyl. cars. C'mon, we don't have to be that old to feel that 55k for a 4 cyl. car is too much.

It was my hard-earned money (actually 1/2 was play money from stock gains), but still, the price was rather insulting. But what did you get? a twin turbo motor with a true dual exhaust, adaptive HID, 13 speaker stereo (what they have called professional and optional since 2009? huh?), on and on (like external oil cooler, stuff that is not a joke), all standard, from that base price.

Today, most car cos. are 4 cyl. solidly to 50k and above. BMW around 53k. Cadillac around 50k. Who is buying these 50k 4 cyl. cars (maybe they're all leases).

Except possibly for Cadillac, I agree that the brands that you've listed have high customer loyalty. I don't know any Cadillac enthusiats, so maybe I'm a bit out of touch, though.
