Driver door won't open from inside

I was wondering if anyone else had this issue.

When you pull the inside door handle, it will pull back but not unlatch the door. It will open fine from the outside. So, I tear apart the door and find that the cable is unlinked from the inside door handle. I reseat it and everything is working fine. About 1 month later, it's doing it again. The cable again is detached.

I'm not sure what the issue is. Nothing appears broken. The end of the cable is a little bent. It seems strange to suddenly unlink on its own like that. I'm not even sure what the workaround would be other than bringing it in an having them replace the entire cable assembly.

someone else had that issue..
And I think it was on here (not the Acadia or Traverse).

I believe they put some silicone/glue or something- to hold the little ball from sliding out of its socket..

Re: Driver door won't open from inside

I had the exact same thing happen a week ago to my 2014. It's still under the B2B warranty, so I took it to the dealer. Got a similar explanation - the latch cable had detached from the inside handle. They also said that something (they were a bit unclear) inside the door appeared to be bent. Regardless, they reattached the cable, and all is well for now. I'm disappointed, though, based on your experience, that the repair may not be permanent.

Math is such a simple, linear science. Why do so many make it so difficult?<br /><br />'14 Enclave / Leather Group<br />White Opal / Cocoa<br />Bose 10 / Nav<br />Moonroof<br />Hit-the-Road<br /><br />Luvvit!!

This was me! I had this happen to my E and have no idea how or why.... I could not find anything physically wrong on the inside of the door... the wire link has a little ball on the end which seats itself into the handle section. Whenever I re-seated the ball the door handle would pull and work perfectly WHILE the door was still apart, but as soon as I started snapping the door back together, the ball would fall out again!

I set the ball back in, and used a bit of hot glue to hold it in place, and its been working great ever since.
