Changing a turn signal bulb

Hi Gang

hoping someone can help me with this. My left rear turn signal / brake light is out. Not too impressed with that on an 18 month old vehicle. I read the manual and I think I misunderstood it. Can you change this on your own ? Anyone done it?

Re: Changing a turn signal bulb

When mine went out a couple of months ago I took it to the dealer. I actually had to leave it there as they said it takes a bit of time. In any event, it was covered by warranty, so I'd just take it to your dealer and get them to do it for you.

sklunk.....I just replaced mine yesterday using the same instructions as your posted link. Pretty simple job & should only take a few minutes. By the way the bulb is a 7443 if you want to get one before you remove the assembly. At O'Rielys they come in a package of two..

Re: Changing a turn signal bulb

I agree. I used info from the forum to change a turn/brake light last week. I bought the 7443 bulb first -- it's the one with two filaments and two wattage ratings. Someone said he used a 7mm hex driver to remove the two bolts, but I used a 9/16 socket. Having the bulb and tools handy made it a 5 minute job.

Ottawan,
You are able to do this yourself with the bulb that the other members have stated the 7443. You are also able to take it into your dealership and it would be covered under your warranty. If you do have any further questions please feel free to message me.

Re: Changing a turn signal bulb

Had to change the bulb in mine a couple of months ago. It was the rear passenger side. I have a 2009 and the manual gave the incorrect bulb number however the instructions were correct. This instructions show a bulb of 3157 on page 5-35. After purchasing had to go back and have them look it up.

Re: Changing a turn signal bulb

Getting to the body-mounted part of the taillight housing is relatively easy... 2 or 3 machine screws if I recall. Getting to te tailgate mounted part looks puzzling special tools and popping those inner liner clips? Bulb changing should be something easy for the average owner.
