I tell you--- Im so glad I bought a Traverse in my configuration (seating for 8 )

Took german shepherd to vet at 730 am. (shes 13- just a routine physical-all day dropoff). 15 mile trip 1 way.

Later in the day- we had to get-
2 large bags of dog food.
Groceries from Costco.
Pickup dog from vet. (actually across from Costco)...

Knowing the space constraint-- grandparents actually suggested taking 2 cars... Trailblazer and Traverse. Or Trailblazer and Equinox (meaning wed have to swap child seats into Nox).
But- 2 vehicles. to head to lunch 20 miles away- then drive to costco another 25 miles away-- and then home 15 miles.
Nope- a waste of fuel.

So... I put on my hitch cargo rack.

Grandma, grandpa, baby 1, baby2, missus, and myself. 6 of us hop into the Traverse.
We do lunch. then we stopped to get 2 large bags of dog food.
Then we get Groceries from Costco.
Pickup dog from vet. (actually across from Costco)...
We head home.

Howd we do it?

At costco we placed on the rack
2 dog food bags (33 lbs and 30 lb)
box of heineken-24 count,
box of water- 24 count,
box of joint juice- 24 count
other groceries were placed behind the 40 portion of the 3rd row.
the 60 portion of 3rd row was folded down- this is were our 13 yr old shepherd would lay next to the 3rd row passenger.
Crossed the road. picked up our German shepherd. I helped her up into the rear- and then placed another box in the cargo area.

Off we went for our 15 mile trip home...

This is significant because we would have had to either use 2 vehicles... or do the groceries etc... and go home-- then go back to the vet to pick up our dog- making multiple trips= more fuel. (gas is back up to $4.00 here)

If I were Grandpa I would have put down the extra $10 for 2 gallons of gas so I didn't have to be in a crowed vehicle.

But that's the whole point, it's not crowded in any Lambda.  It's maximizing space.

I should have stated that even if my inlaws and I were the only ones in a bus, it would still be too crowded.
