So I dropped in to exchange vehicles from the rusty old Ford Escort to a Chrysler Intrepid which is much more comfortable. I made the mistake of checking what the vehicle looks like in it's present condition. Sorry for the blurry pictures...

Okay, this really hurt to see....not so luxurious anymore now is it!
They better put back every part back properly!  Tongue

Will they need to do an alignment on it after the job is complete?

1) Why does the fan squeal so much now? Did I put it back properly causing the fan to squeal?

2) Why did the bowl and hose fill up with water in the summer?

I'm going to guess that your sunroof may be leaking, the blower motor cover is not suppose to contain water at anytime.
I would suggest, while the dash is completely taken apart, for you to check the sunroof drainage hoses to see if they are blocked by debris. Check the videos out below, this may help you with your above questions.

Also, I find the pictures of your Enclave's dash completely removed to be rather interesting, it gives a good idea of what is down there.

I've never had any water leaking on me at any time ever. I just called the shop back told them to have a look. Last summer I removed the water from the blower motor and the drainage hose on the drivers side underneath the panel near the floor. Are there other drainage hoses?

Yeah, it's a shame the pictures turned out blurry, but it gives a rough estimate of what's going on.

The owner of the shop said he only has one guy working on removing the inside of the car and that no other mechanic there is certified to do so. What a job!

Yeah, parts of the Enclave are spread everywhere! On top of the roof, beside, in front, behind. If I would have known that all of this would have to come out I would have emptied the console as well. Man, I'll tell you this...I'm glad I'm not a mechanic!  Tongue

Yes, there should be another drainage hose in the passenger side and 2 more in the rear of the vehicle.

As for the leaks themselves, you won't have water pouring down on you from the sunroof, the leaks are usually as a result of blocked or dislodged drainage tubes. A sign of a leak is water in the blower motor cover, wet carpets, water dripping from the 3rd and 4th row dome lamps (2008) and or the A-pillars have wet spots. However, it may also be possible that the leak can be from another source, like a poorly sealed windshield. I never had to deal with it personally however, this just came with the research from 5 years ago when I was looking for a 2008 Enclave.
By the way, I'm not saying that your vehicle is leaking everywhere, it's just possible that you have leak since you have some of the signs.

My vehicle is still in the shop. When the job is complete I'll break down the final pricing here just in case others need to get it down and will know what they are roughly in for.

Alright, the vehicle is back in my hands as of this morning and everything seems to be working fine as far as the electrical components go. Also, everything seems to be put back in place perfectly with my driving experience as good as ever.

Here is the break down of the costs:

1) Heater Core: $207.28
2) Blower Motor: $170.94
3) Evap Core: $208.00
4) Labour: $1,399.50
---------------------------
Sub Total: $1985.72

Evacuate & recharge Air conditioning system $175.00

Total Labor $1,574.50
Total Parts: $586.22
Total before Taxes & Miscellaneous Charges: $2,160.72

Canadian Goods and Services Tax: (GST) $108.04

Final complete Total: $2,268.76 ($1685.01 US dollars)

They have a one year parts and labor warranty as well so he said if anything goes wrong don't hesitate to let them know. Also no debris was trapped in the tubing from the sunroof.

All in all so far I'm happy with their work and all looks well. He originally quoted me about $3,000 and he also had to order a part that was $200 more than his original part that wouldn't work in the Enclave. Does this seem fair for all the work that was done?

Doesn't seem too bad to me for the amount of work involved.

Well that makes me feel better.

Everything seems to be good except one issue. I keep smelling a bit of burnt rubber coming from the engine ever since the repairs have been completed.
