There indeed is a Mobil1-113 oil filter.  I bought it at AutoZone.  its on my vehicle.  I will share results of the UOA.

izzycohen , let us know the results of you UOA. BTW, my Buick dealer's service rep insisted recently that there is no such thing as the Mobil1-113 oil filter.  :Smiley  When I told them that I know of some car owners using just such a filter in their Enclave's, he got one of his service techs to confirm his claim. Makes me wonder if they are liars or uninformed, or both.  eyebrow

Maybe I ought to take a picture of the stash of M1-113s I have in my closet so you can show them to your service rep. The Walmart near me was closing out Mobil 1 filters out a few months ago and I picked five M1-113s for $5.99 each.

I am going to do the first oil change on my 2010 Enclave 3.6 with 1,0 ???00 miles. Of the following three oil brands 5w-30, which should I use? I plan on using a Mobil M-113 filter.
Which one, Mobil 1 Extended Performance, Castrol Edge or Pennzoil Ultra?

I'm certainly not the most informed regarding oil, but I've used basic M1 from the get-go and wouldn't spend the extra money on the EP variant.  OTOH, I would have absolutely no concerns using either P-zoil or Castrol;  in fact, I've heard especially good things about Edge.

well on the Traverse forum- Kawazar just sent off for a used oil analysis on Penz Ultra with 4600 miles...
were looking forward to his results...
as Mobil1 hasnt been all that impressive in the DI engine. (im not sure how Mobil 1 EP relates to Mobil1).

I am keeping my eyes peeled on that UOA. Although I have the non-DI engine, I am under the impression that those beat up on oils somewhat, as well. A better oil for the DI should also be better for the non-DI.

Whether you use dino, faux "full" synthetic, or real synthetic be sure to read the posts about this topic as copperbeach noted. I certainly do not want to be crying wolf but there is enough good and hard evidence that the 3.6L DI in a Lambda trashes an oil, including Mobil 1, due to fuel dilution long before the OLM gets to 40% to 50%. I am almost wondering if a SM rated xW30 HD diesel oil would not be best for these engines since they are formulated to handle fuel dilution. However, until some more Used Oil Analysis come in that thought will remain just a thought.

I am awaiting some UOAs to show up for the 3.6L DIs in the Camaros to see it the engine in that light body beats up oil as badly as the 3.6L DIs in the Lambdas do.

Please explain how a DI gasoline engine produces fuel dilution similar to a diesel engine with a particulate/soot regen system ? Are you quoting a source that is claiming incomplete combustion post spark plug firing ?  Fuel dilution has become a huge problem for the regen equipped diesels and AMSOIL is warning users/owners to expect shorter oil change intervals as a result.  However I would enjoy learning how this occurs in a gasoline fueled engine.   Thank you.

And that is why I will be using a dual rated HDEO in our Traverse in the next oil change i.e. in some ways this DI engine does behave like a dirty diesel engine.

I have posted the UOA for Kawazar(traverse member) here...
