I, too, had a dream this season.  But, unfortunately, reality prevailed. facepalm

flaming mad Football season may have ended yet that doesn't mean there isn't some controversy popping up.

I think that what I just read is totally uncalled for and if this is true any football player in the NFL who has participated needs to be heavily fined and made to publicly apologize.

I mean our children who are big football fans like to imitate players and to have it know that it is okay to intentionally "hit/injure" another player because they have a bet made on this is uncalled for.

Enough Football Violence
By FRANK BRUNI

I suspect I speak for many ardent football fans when I say that I’m sickened by reports of the “bounties” that New Orleans Saints players were paying one another for injuring opponents and–even better!–knocking them out of games. Revolting. Unconscionable.

What will happen wih Peyton, now that he is no longer with the colts?  Here is a list of distinctive possibilities:

Peyton will sign with the Lakers so he can play with Kobe.

Peyton has a year of eligibility left at Tennessee and will go back to college so he can become the first two time number one pick in the draft.

Peyton will compete in the 2012 summer olympics so he can set a new olympics record for the slowest 100 meters ever.

Peyton will join the PGA Tour so he can teach Tiger how to score.

LOL!

Well perhaps he will be picked up by the Eagles or heck why not the Bengals.  I know that Cincinnati could use him at least for another year or two, if he stays healthy that is.  Cheesy

Thank you so much for putting that on here, I was going to search for it in a little while.  You may also want to add it to the basketball thread......there was one, right?

(I'm very happy with "my" Spartans, of course....getting the first "seed"....pretty cool!)

(Oh and I know that's a little sore subject, since they beat Ohio State today....LOL....but Ohio State won last week, so we are "even", so to speak)

Anyway....I think the price/wage...or what ever is totally ridiculous!

Calvin Johnson gets 7 years, $132 million, $60 million guaranteed
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 14, 2012, 11:13 AM EDT

The Lions were willing to spend whatever it took to lock up wide receiver Calvin Johnson for years to come.

Johnson and the Lions are scheduled to announce a long-term contract extension this afternoon, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that it’s a seven-year deal worth $132 million, with $60 million guaranteed. That makes it the biggest contract in NFL history, surpassing Larry Fitzgerald’s contract with the Cardinals.

STEELERS!!!  At one time I was a HUGE BIG TIME Steelers fan.  Then they brought a football team to Cincinnati.  Since then my heart, many times a broke one though, belongs to the Bengals.

Oh my Manning is no longer with the Colts.  Rumor has it, okay I have not checked ESPN this morning so...., anyway he is suppose to be in talks with the Bronco's.

Have to tell you a friend in Colorado she is so very very upset at the thought of Tebow being set aside for Manning.

It is a done deal, except for routine negotiations that both sides say is as good as done, according to the news this morning.
I wonder about the wisdom of trading a young star (tebow) just because you get an OLD star.  How many years does Manning have left?
On the other hand, as the story pointed out, what an opportunity for Tebow to study under Manning for a couple of years and be the future for Denver.

As a Nner fan, I am watching the Smith potential move. He just came into his own this past year. We shoulda/woulda/coulda gone to the super bowl! Cheers

Okay I can see Tebow studying under Manning EXCEPT if Manning had already been with the Bronco's.

So now let me think....Manning...5 years....and I think what 96MILLION DOLLARS!   Yea if I were Tebow I would be seriously thinking that my bags should be packed and ready.

There are discussions and rumors of Tebow returning to Florida, as in Jacksonville Jaguars.  He was raised and went to High School in  Ponta Vedra Beach, one of the beach communities east of downtown Jacksonville.  Back home for all intents and purposes.

Tebow has landed but in New York.  He was just traded to the Jet's.

Damn the more I read about the Saints the more disgusted I am with the coaching team.  I also want to know WHAT if anything they are going to do to the players involved?

The NFL said payoffs went to 22 to 27 defensive players for inflicting game-ending injuries on targeted opponents, including quarterbacks Brett Favre and Kurt Warner. "Knockouts" were worth $1,500 and "cart-offs" $1,000, with payments doubled or tripled for the playoffs.
