Down to one Enclave

I traded my 08 in on a 2013 Ford Cmax hybrid.
Of course it does not have the Es ride, but for a small car it is remarkbly good. The room is adequate, the exit and entrance is not too bad and the mileage is great.
I traded because of my need for a better mileage car to run around this hilly area.
they claim 47 Mpg, but, from what I have read, I do not expect that. Realistically, 37+/- would make me hapy and double my Es.
Of course I still have my 11 AWD that we will use when we need a bigger car, long trips with tons of luggage, or snowy or icy days.
An additive incentive was my tires, @45000 were just about ready to be replaced, the OEM battery, while not giving me any trouble yet, at 5.5 years would likely fail soon.

Cool, tell us how you like that C-max after having it a while. That's on my list for our next vehicle. I now it's a little more expensive because of the hybrid.

The 37 mpg is the same as the reports I've been seeing. It's a far cry from the 47 they claim, and I don't blame many people for being pi$$ed. You buy a compromise vehicle for a reason; in this case, for most, it's mainly because of the high mpg. For me, I'd rather buy a "regular" car that gets slightly lower gas mileage; you pay a lot less and you don't have to live with the compromises.

REDCXL, Good Luck with the new CMax. Did you get the plug-in model?

No. The plug in model costs 5K more. One would have to drive a lot and have low electricity prices to pay for it.
I leased this car for 36 months, the length of the B2B warranty.
We do not like surprises, and I think even though it is a more expensive practice, we are going to go with leases lasting the length of th warranty from now on.
One reason we did not buy a conventional small car is that all that we tried that had any appreciable difference in mpg, were too low for us to enter and exit. The Cmax, though small, is remarkable easy to enter and exit, with a higher seat position than most small cars.
It lookd pretty small sitting in our garage next to our 11 E!

BTW, does anyone else find the name, Cmax , to be a little, uh, suggestive?

I like the MPG's, but it's not an E and hasn't 7 or 8 seat capacity. Not good for my family of 5. Nice looking lines on it though. Good luck with it.

Re: Re: Down to one Enclave

Why not just get a normal sedan that does better than some of the hybrids? My brother's Kia Optima consistently averages 40mpg. His commute changes elevation by about 1000 feet. He gets 38 on the way up and 44 on the way down. That's mostly highway, but still... I got even better mileage than that when I rented a Hyundai Sonata and drove it in the mountains for 3 days. I was even driving aggressively, and only half of it was highway. I didn't believe the dash display until I filled it up and my actual calculation was exactly the same...
