Fearing the wave plate

Hi All,

About 4 or 5 days ago I started getting some vibration when turning especially when the engine is cold. But I played around with the manual shifter and noticed it seemed worse in 2nd gear. A quick search here and I had an Uh-oh moment.

Some background
2011 CXL with 95000 miles
Had it about 18 months & 20k
Problem free (so far)

I just replaced the front tires & struts so I thought it might be related to the suspension.

How do I tell if it's the wave plate and what do I do if it is?

Thanks!

1st thing Id do is check the oil level.
2 things that stood out was when making a turn and noise/vibration/

theres been reports of folks making turns (left I think).. and the engine makes a noise.
Turns out it was low on oil.
They add oil.. all is good.

rbarrios you are indeed the Enclave god.

It was at least a quart low. Added some oil and no more noise!

Thanks for coming back and letting us know.

From now on, monitor oil levels.
The timing chains on these motors are very sensitive to oil levels.

I will definitely keep an eye on the oil level from now on.

I was wondering where all the oil went. Sure enough oil in the intake. It looks like it's caused by a clogged PCV so I'll be replacing that this weekend. According to this thread it's on the back by the firewall.

Could also be your engine is now burning oil.

I did that mod. No more oil in my tube.
But I still burn oil.
I check my oil level weekly.
Im close to 150,000 now.
Burning about 2-2.5 qts every 5,000 miles.

GM considers 1 qt every 2000 miles- as 'normal'.... but thats a whole other discussion.
