Re: Squeaky Brake Pedal

Mine has a squeaky brake pedal too. My wife's mustang had this as well (it was worse), and turns out it was the brake fluid! When I replaced the brakes and flushed the fluid, the squeak disappeared. Have your dealer try that.

Re: Squeaky Brake Pedal

My '08 has a very occasional brake pedal squeak. I would say that it happens once every month or two, and may occur for only one or two brake applications when it happens. It has always performed that way, is so infrequent, and barely audible, so I have ignored it. If it starts to become a bigger issue, I will approach the dealer about it.

I have had the same issue. Someone in the forum suggested flushing the brake system and using Valvoline synthetic. I tried that since my Clave was due for a brake flush anyway and it did not work.

Another poster said he used a long Seafoam red tube to get under the dash and insert it into the brake booster and spray with WD-40. This seems like the right solution.I looked and I couldn't see where the brake pedal linkage goes in to the firewall.

Can anyone help with that?

I used AC DELCO brake fluid made for quieting.
It did work.
Many thousands of miles later the squeek returned.

there is a picture or video somewhere where they show where they put that red straw in..

Squeaky?? Brake Pedal 2016 Buick Enclave

Two weeks ago I purchased 2016 Buick Enclave, 21,800 miles on it. I noticed a brake noise last week, made a service appointment and they tried to tell me there was no noise. I pushed it and they made an appointment for today to repair it. To me it sounds like when your brake pads need replacement, but then I’m no mechanic. The service writer said it was the brake pedal. That sounded odd to me. I seem to be getting the dumb female treatment from this dealership so I wanted to research this. Any idea what the problem/repair would be?
