Interior lights not working.

I have a 2009 Enclave, with 46k miles, when I purchased this vehicle all was well. Recently the vehicle threw a 304 code misfire #4 cylinder, changed the coil pack and all is well. I opened a door a couple of nights ago, no interior lights. Iím well aware of the disable switch over the interior light dimmer. The lights work manually but when I open any door or lock and unlock the vehicle remotely the lights do not work.
What I found strange is that when I rotate the dimmer full clockwise the lights still do not come on. I have set and unset the override switch a thousand times and Iím still in the dark. The courtesy light on the dvd player in the back flickers from time to time when the dvd unit switch is in auto with the doors opened.

Re: Interior lights not working.

This is curious & will probably require a visit to your dealer...

I found the below string, but I think you're already aware of what's covered in it... Still, if you haven't already stumbled across it...

And welcome to the forum! Hope you get this sorted out in short order...

Re: Interior lights not working.

I will have to double check, but there may be a toggle type switch at the overhead lights that may have been switched to disable each light cluster. I would imagine each cluster in each row would have one. Why they would all be switched off simultaneously, I would not know? If kids are ever in the car, they may have played with the switched. I will check my car when I get back to the parking lot shortly to verify my statement, and I will repost my findings.

I had the same problem because the interior light switch just left of the steering column had them disabled. You may want to check the switch. It's a square pushbutton.

Re: Interior lights not working.

Sorry about my incorrect advice. I just checked, and there are no toggle switches by each light cluster. That set up is in my Subaru Tribeca instead. Oops.

bocoogto's suggestion is sound, but I believe that your post indicates that you've already tried that button.

If all else fails, have it looked at the next time you are at the dealer for an oil change.

Re: Interior lights not working.

I still have a couple of more questions. Whatís the possibility of it being a BCM, If so what are other signs that the BCM is possibly bad?
Could it be a fuse ? Although the lights do work manually?
What about the fuse that controls the lights when the door is open? Would that be a different fuse than the dome light fuse?

No ideas... Is your Enclave no longer under warranty?

Re: Interior lights not working.

I just had a body control module change on our DTS before it went out of warranty, it was because the headlights were staying on in daytime, cost of part was $450- I would get in to the dealers and take a book. Better replaced under warranty than not.

incidentally - after GM spent all this money - Cadillac issued a tech info to say the lights can remain on for up to 20 minutes in daytime - they were obviously getting complaints. Must however change from day to night without delay - that is a BCM fault
