Sunroof shade !!??

New to Enclave
New to Arizona
New to Sunroofs....not

I am surprised the little "pull shade" over the sunroof is effective at all.
But it is. STILL, in AZ any added degrees of heat are to be avoided.

Anybody feel the same? A Fix?
I thought a tight fit of foam (covered in material or not) would be
a nice Low Tech solution. Just retract Shade and press it in.

I have owned tons of cars with sunroofs and moonroofs.....
I use them 1/2 per cent of the time......so, never

Had a '16 with sunroof and had to put a big sheet of white paper above the shade to
keep the sun from coming in. It did work.

I bought a $3 silver windshield sunscreen from Walmart and cut it to fit the front and back sunroof. Seems to help a lot. I'm in GA and probably not like AZ but it still gets pretty darn hot down here.

I've read in several other forums that putting a reflective shield in the sunroof can cause the glass to crack. Don't know how, but that's what some have said.

That sounds like "made up" info. Why wouldn't it crack a windsheild? Also why do they sell reflective sunroof shields online?
CARid. https://www.carid.com/coverking/cust...z65mn7039.html
If it does happen I'll eat my words and say so but for now I'll stick with what's working.

I retract my comment. The issue with cracking had to do with tinting the sunroof glass, not inserting a reflective shield.

Too bad that CARid link only has a product for a Mini. If they made them for an Enclave I'd get them since the sun is brutal here in NM and the stupid (IMO) sunroofs were not optional on the Avenir.

I like the sunroof, although here in the northeast you can't use it during spring pollen season.
