Maryland Emissions

I had to get my early build 2008 Enclave bi-annual emissions checked. When i arrived at the VEIP station they did not have an option to select an Enclave in their software. I am like the WTH the car has been out for 34 months and they have not updated the VEIP software. So the person selected Rendevous as the car model. They did not do a tail-pipe & dyno test, just hooked up to the OBD. I am still a little concerned that the state will give me trouble over not having my Enclave inspected... but my receipt has my correct VIN number.

wow, thats interesting.

on a side note... every 2 yrs huh..

Here in California- I bought a new 2003 Trailblazer back in 2002.
I didnt get a smog check letter until 2009. I already had something like 140,000.

But it did go on the rollers.... passed with flying colors.

In california- they put it on rollers and the vehicle is hooked up to the OBD port- and a thingy in the exhaust pipe measuring emissions.

the smog tech then hops in-- follows the instructions on the screen- and essentially 'drives' the car.
Hes essentially accelerating thru the gears and also stays at certain speeds before accelerating again etc.---

this to mimick- actual driving conditions--- all while actually reading the exhaust output.

then they determine if youre polluting.

Sounds just like Southern Ontario. We were bi-annual (up to 2008 I think) but now it's vehicle over 5 years old and then bi-annual after that based on model year.

I had my 2010 emissions done a year or two ago, and it worked fine.
