Traction control light ON, Check Engine Light on. Cleared the codes, ran awful. Stuttering, not misfiring, just could tell something is REALLY WRONG with it. drove it 35 miles back home. I guess off to the stealership on Monday. Unless anyone can tell me what to do. Camshaft Position Sensor A and B, Knock Sensor Bank 2 or Single Sensor, etc...
Well, the "Cherry-Ot"is dead. Needs a new engine, according to the dealership. The cam shaft seal is leaking, the cam shaft itself is wobbling around inside and causing the timing chain to cause other internal issues. $8,700.00 to put another engine in it. That is more than the car is worth, period. Goodbye, Enclave. Time to car shop for a newer car.

Ouch! Well you got 10 good years out of her anyway. But only 150k? What a shame.

Oh well... I'll have my code reader back later today for when my next "adventure" starts.

Grrrr... and my next adventure starts TODAY. Engine light came on and I was able to pull a code... P0008. This is going to be the timing chain. I just bought the car! Why couldn't there have been an engine light come on when I test drove it?!?!

Now I have to figure out if it's worth fixing or if I should take my losses.

How’s the rest of the car? Could pick up a used motor for about $2500-3k (quick eBay search just showed one with a 90 day warranty and 58k for $3k that fits 2013-2015) and pay a local shop to swap it. Even if you just drove it for 6 months after doing that and traded it you’d probably still be ahead since they won’t give you hardly anything in trade for it with a bad motor.

I wouldn’t put almost 9k into though.

Im wondering if they cleared the CELs to sell it.

For future reference.
You can take some Code readers.... and check to see how long its been since the codes were cleared.

Some give you - engine starts and miles driven since being cleared.

Mine is an 08. Codes weren't cleared. I have owned it since 2012, 2nd owner.

All you need to do is push the blue onstar button and tell them you want a diagnostic report!
