  1. My Experience Owning an Original '08

    Buick Enclave
Excited to buy an Enclave, we paid to much for the first one that came to our dealer, completely loaded Diamond tricoat CXL. Then the fun began. 1. Recalled for leaking roof. 2. Recalled for transmission flash if you wanted it. We did. 3. Replaced seat belt plastic hootus where belt was wearing...
  2. First Dent

    Body / Exterior
Well, just to add a little more drama, last weekend went to the OU A&M game in Norman and as I (not my wife) ;D was exiting off of I-35 on a long circle ramp I shot out into what I thought was a merge lane and got slammed by a Dodge Neon in the driver side rear wheel. Got lucky and only scuffed...
  3. My Enclave has arrived and I am thrilled

    Buying, Leasing & Custom Ordering
We've had ours since July 5th and I still can't wait for family trips so I can drive it. It's really a great vehicle and after driving my 3/4 ton truck for weeks at a time without even sitting in the Enclave, well it's like butta. :thumb: Congrats.
  4. 250 Miles...Problem..Help...Scrapping Noise in Front...Possibly from New Wheels?

    Brakes, Suspension, Wheels & Tires
What are the original tire sizes, before you put the 19's on? It sounds like there may be a different wheel well set up for Enclaves ordered with the 19in. tires and your new tires are rubbing the skirting inside the well. I had to trim a little off of a fender flare on my Chevy truck to make...
  5. Prices paid for Enclave

    Buying, Leasing & Custom Ordering
Looks like you got employee pricing instead of supplier unless pricing has changed since we got ours, you stole it, good job.
  6. First Dent

    Body / Exterior
We live in a small town and it happened at work so I'm sure we could narrow it down, but then you have to prove it. She runs a salon and parks across the street from work, pretty sure it was someone doing it intentionally or one of her "blue hairs" as I call them. I know, a little crude, but...
  7. Conquest plus Supplier discount???

    Buying, Leasing & Custom Ordering
I asked for part of the kickback they get from GM for selling at supplier and he knocked another $300 off our Enclave. I felt good about it because it was their first one and he didn't even have to sell it at supplier.
  8. Beverage cooler in second row with captain's seats.......

    Parts, Accessories & Upgrades
Gotta have it. Perfect size, thanks for the link.
  9. 3M Sotchguard Clear Bra - just installed

    Aftermarket/Upgrades
Re: Clear Bra...is it worth it? Did your insurance replace the coating or did they re-use it?
  10. 3M Sotchguard Clear Bra - just installed

    Aftermarket/Upgrades
Re: Clear Bra...is it worth it? I assumed that it would come off without damaging the paint if they are going to offer a lifetime warranty, never can tell though.
  11. 3M Sotchguard Clear Bra - just installed

    Aftermarket/Upgrades
Re: Clear Bra...is it worth it? Like it. Just happen to have a dealer 1.5hrs from where I live, my daughters orthodontist is there too. My only question, if it does start to yellow, nevermind, it has a lifetime warranty.
  12. 3M Sotchguard Clear Bra - just installed

    Aftermarket/Upgrades
Re: Clear Bra...is it worth it? If I was going to have anything put on our Enclave it would be this, but, I really don't think it will do much to protect the front end. Do a search and you will find a body shop somewhere that has before and after pics. Because it's clear, obviously it's hard to...
  13. Is there an official way to complain to GM? Enclave in shop long-term

    General Tech
Is the dealership the one you bought from? I would have insisted on their nicest used Tahoe or Suburban. Did you ask for something off their lot? I'm a lake guy too and would have been :angryfire: if that happened to me. I'd call the dealership and insist on a loaner or at the very least pay the...
  14. Transmission Shifting

    Engine & Drivetrain
Even though I will be getting the shift flash done when it's available, I was reminded, by driving a Chevy Diesel PU with the 6 speed Allison, just how much difference that one extra gear makes in the shift points. I still think the Enclave shifts to late going up hills, so I will get the...
  15. Front End Protectors

    Parts, Accessories & Upgrades
I've done some research on 3M's transparent bra and will probably go with that. It's a clear laminate that is supposed to protect your paint and help dings caused by gravel etc. The installer I looked at had kits for grills, bumpers, hood, whatever you want to cover. I just can't bring myself to...
  16. A/C "Noisy"

    General Tech
The auxillary fan comes on when the A/C is running because the AC takes significant HP from the engine to run the compressor causing the engine to heat up faster, it doesn't come on just because the AC is running, at least it doesn't on my other GM vehicles. The whining is probably freon gas on...
  17. Quality control problems?

    Buick Enclave
The left side trim below the clock on ours turns up slightly where it meets the right side, my wife noticed it too. Will be getting a new piece installed, these are the little gremlins that we are going to run into buying a first run vehicle, but they will correct them, eventually.
  18. Bug gut stains

    General Tech
After my truck was painted following repairs for hail damage, the body shop told me to hold off waxing it for 3 months to allow the paint and clearcoat to cure. Part of the new car smell when you walk into the garage is the paint curing. My pickup had a sweet/solvent smell for about 3 months...
  19. Has anyone named their Enclave?

    Buick Enclave
My wife and kids chose Miss Ellie, exciting huh. ???
  20. Bug gut stains

    General Tech
I used the Mothers clay on my black truck, had some overspray on it that I didn't notice when I bought it. I was amazed how this stuff wiped away paint droplets that you couldn't chip off with a fingernail, yet doesn't harm the paint. It does require alot of elbow grease though, I can't imagine...
