I have a 2008 Enclave with 173K miles. Sometimes when I try to start it, nothing happens. It doesn't crank or even try to start. I've been able to get it started by either starting the car in neutral or by pressing the shifter forward and holding it there while I turn the key. Could it be the neutral safety switch? Has anyone else had a similar issue and if so, how was it fixed? I can't really find any info on the web about this problem. Any help would be appreciated!!!

Sounds like the neutral switch is loose or getting unreliable. I would start by replacing the switch and go from there.
It looks as if it is on the transmission and not the shifter as i would think.
