Having issues with my enclave again. About 30k kms ago I replaced the timing chains, cam sensors, coils, spark plugs, water pump and power steering pump. I have drilled out the pcv as well. Vehicle has 260k kms. It just started running very rough the other day while driving down the highway, I initially thought the engine failed. Lost power, sounded different and couldn't control the rpms. Had a garage look at it breifly as we were on our way for a vacation. They weren't much help, ran the codes and thought it might be the throttle body. I ended up towing it home, I have replaced the throttle body, crank sensor and cleaned the MAF, no change. I have noticed the intake tube is ripped as well, I will be replacing it but for now I taped it up but there could still be some unmetered air getting by. I think my issues are beyond the ripped intake tube though as it looks like it's been ripped for awhile. Currently it will start but it's kind of a hard start, It will idle fine for a few seconds then start running rough and will die. Current codes are P0343, P0368, P0300, P0301, P0303, P0300 so camshaft sensor A and B on bank 1 high voltage and cylinder 1 and 3 miss fire codes. I am also getting fuel into the oil, seems to be running very rich. Possible an injector failed and just dumping fuel in?

I am thinking I will do a compression test this weekend and probably check the fuel pressure. Not to sure where to go from there though if it all checks out.

Has anyone had similar issues?

This guy had a very similar issue.

The fuel in the oil is interesting. You may be onto something with an injector being stuck open. Still don't think that would set the cam codes but who knows.

You can check the fuel pressure but when my Enclave started misfiring because the high pressure fuel pump went bad it threw fuel rail pressure codes so if it was fuel pressure I'd expect to see that.

Thanks. Yes after thinking about it for a bit, it is all in the same bank. I replaced all the timing chains so it shouldn't be timing chains unless one somehow broke, maybe it's one of the VVT sprockets or an actuator. Probably should of just replaced everything when I was in there. Guess I will probably start tearing it apart and see if I can get the bank 1 valve cover off.

Still wondering why the fuel is getting in the oil.

So I managed to get it running for a bit. Checked the exhaust with a heat gun. It's only running on bank 2 cylinders 2/4/6.

Could all this be from a plugged catalytic converter?

Thinking one of the injectors is leaking, with the key on it seems the fuel pump is constantly running. Maybe this caused the converter to plug. I have no codes indicating this though.

Seems weird, when it started running bad it happened instantly.

Haven't done anything with it yet, it's just sitting in my garage in pieces. Pulled the head and everything looks fine, valves never touched the head. I see no reason for the chain to have broke, the tensioners, sprockets and guides look fine. Engine looks decent for 260k kms. I emailed cloyes and they never responded, will never use another cloyes product. The chains themselves aren't super expensive.

I am going to order a gasket kit and ACDelco timing chains and put it back together.

Also found the front passenger drive axle bearing was completely gone, so I will be replacing that as well.
