Hello,
I am picking up my 2012 certified pre-owned Enclave tomorrow night and need to make a decision on adding Navigation. The dealer has offered to bring in their usual after market contractor to add the gm-looking Advent Navigation System. I have read too much on the negative side about this device however and am leaning away from installing the Advent. I've found an OEM Navigation that has mixed reviews about being faulty, and the Delphi system that would have been the original factory install but is somewhat outdated being DVD based. My gut is saying install the Delphi to keep with the factory technology, but also thinking that a newer technology would be tough to miss out on. Does anyone have any strong feelings or knowledge of the smartest option?

Thanks

Have the OEM in my '14 and would not spend the money again. Never has the right time to destination. Also the screen is way to low in the dashboard.
I use my Garmin that can be updated whenever I want and it works much better.

You asked for advice so here it is. Don't. Buy yourself a top-of-the-line Garmin and use it when you need it. That's what I did. My Garmin is basically hands free with it's voice recognition and I update it every three months on line.

Stay away from the DVD based factory Nav's. Go for an aftermarket Kenwood/Pioneer unit. I had a Kenwood in my 09 Enclave and it did everything and more that a factory unit could do. Or get a Garmin with a windshield mount

I have a Rosen aftermarket Nav in my 2011. Seems to be fine, so far. Only had since Dec/14. Would love to know if i could update it. Sorry, I'm not very computer saavy, but it has what i think they call a sym card? One of those squares the size of your thumb nail in it.

If you own an iPhone download the Waze app from the App Store. You will find it will do everything the Nav can do with much better graphics. I can't say if the Waze app is available for other non-Apple phones.
