2013 Ambient Lighting went out

A '13 is necessarily under warranty, isn't it? Or over 50k miles....

Yes it's still under warranty but is that included in the warranty? I thought these consumables like bulbs and brake pads are not included.

I think it should be included since it's bumper to bumper....I've always assumed bulbs were covered but when both of our signals went I just changed those myself because I didn't want to waste time at the dealer (I find GM to be very unpleasant, they just don't seem to know what they're doing)....but these were the outers.....

I can't find it now but I seem to recall someone else having this problem and if my memory serves me, they ended up having the door panel replaced by their dealer. Something about the design of the lights that didn't allow for a simple swap out. Maybe someone remembers or is better at searching and can point you to the thread.

Post #16 of this link explains about the door panel having to be replaced in order to have the light working again.

Thank you so much! Definitely did not expect a light strip fix needs the whole door panel replaced....

Doesn't surprise me to hear of one going out, I kind of thought the addition of all the extra accent lighting would cause more things to stop working :-\ I'm also wondering about the optional lighted sills as well.

If you decide to order a GT model the Ambient lighting gives you an illuminated thin white line along the Cyclone inserts in the door panel.

Just want to follow up on this.

I went to the dealership and indeed it was covered under the warranty. The door trim panel did have to be swapped out so it's a costly fix for something so trivial if you are out of warranty.

This may be late for you but I have a 2015 Enclave with the same issue. I also noticed a rattle in the passenger door speaker. Upon removing the door panel, I noticed a loose wire hanging and touching the speaker causing the rattle. I searched and found where the wire was supposed to be connected, plugged it in and boom! The ambient lighting now works and there is no speaker rattle.
