My Enclave just turned 50k and when i put the car in gear (drive or reverse foot on the brake) and accelerate or decelerate, there is a clunk sound coming from the front driver's side. It sounds like a worn u-joint would sound. I've taken into the dealer twice already and they said it's due to the front brake pads being worn. Last night, I replaced the pads with an OEM set, which included the shims and brackets. The noise is still there and getting worse. I'm thinking the driver's side axle has a bad joint. Anyone have a similar experience and fix the problem? I'm dropping it back off to the dealer tonight.

Yes, it's not the mount. Also, if you get in the car, shift into forward (or reverse) with your foot on the brake, as soon as the tranny engages the axle you get the clunk. You don't even need to depress the accelerator.
