I found your message more than interesting. I have owned a 2019 Avenir since mid December 2018 and find it to be a beautiful car except for one very important aspect. For the record, this is my second Enclave (2012) and maybe tenth Buick. I always loved the smooth, powerful performance of a Buick. The 2019 is probably the best car I have ever owned on the road but just miserable around town. I find the 9-speed shifts much too often (6 speeds was just fine) it "chuggles" in the middle gears (3 or 4 thru about 6th). This is the dealer's and GM's term for the shuddering I feel when the tranny shifts. They claim it is skipping gears if you don't put your foot in the throttle. I don't like to overdrive, especially around town, so I find the chuggling to be very prevalent. Sadly, they say there is nothing that can be done.
Which brings me to your note. Please describe what brought you to getting a new transmission. My 2019 only has 6000 miles at this point.

Agreed. As I've mentioned in other threads, my 2019 Avenir has the least smooth transmission of any vehicle I've ever driven. I assumed a modern transmission, especially in a Buick, would be liker butter, but this transmission constantly hunts for gears and I can feel every shift. And worst of all is that it doesn't coast when you let off the accelerator, it hunts as it downshifts also.

I like most everything else, but the transmission is less than stellar in this vehicle.

Enclave Shudder

My ‘19 Avenir developed a shudder around 5k miles. The dealer flushed the trans and replaced it with a new fluid type specified in a TSB your local dealer should have access to. The new fluid removed the shudder.

As others have mentioned, I still don’t love the shifting patterns, especially as your coming to a stop at a light and light changes to green. Mine seems to have a lot of trouble with this, as did several I test drove before buying mine.

Once in a while I notice a little herky-jerky downshifting, but only in the lowest gears. That seems to be related to how hard I accelerate at low speed. I still prefer the 9-speed for the acceleration off the line and the 26-29 mpg on the highway. That's pretty good for a vehicle this size.

I have a 08 enclave with transmission sticking in 1st gear and have to turn the car off and back on and boom it shifts! Does anyone else have this problem or what the issue might be, my transmission fluid is good, all lines are good, Im clueless and just restored the battery, alternator and water pump. This car feeds off my blood like a leech!!!

Your 2008 is over extended warranty due to age, I don't believe the 2010s had the waveplate issue, but you never know, some of the defective parts may have made their way into production. How many miles on each of yours? My waveplate on a 2008 went around 125,000 so it wasn't covered. :(

Has other people had problems with the 2018 or 2019 enclave transmissions. My tranny is currently being rebuilt. It only had 7000 miles on it.
I have a 2019 Buick Enclave, just 4000 miles and in the shop now for 10-days with a transmission issue.
I have also had issues. 24k mikes on mine and had to have torque converter replaced. Solved the issue temporarily, now it’s slowly having problems again. Also have had entire fuel system replaced. You should contact GM, I’m seeing that a lot of people are having issues with these vehicles.

Had mine for 4 days. Purchased as a “demo/wife driven” at 3000 miles. It feels like it is jerking or shuddering between 17-30 Mph. told them the next day. We are being told it has to,”sync” with the driver. I’m not happy. A $40,000 vehicle should NOT be doing that
