When we picked up our Enclave from the dealership it had 8 miles on it. Since we ordered it from the factory it was already sold when it arrived at the dealership. My husband and I were wondering where those 8 miles came from. Does anyone know if they are given a road test before leaving the factory? I know it is transported by train to a lot, then transferred by truck to the dealership. Eight miles just seems like alot.

I'd like to think that the dealership wouldn't allow anyone to drive it since it was sold but I wouldn't put it past them.

Ours came off the truck with roughly that many miles on it. I don't think there is anything amiss.

The law is that the vehicle can not leave the lot without at leas 3 dealer miles on it. That means the dealer needs to put three miles on it. Not sure why but it is what it is.

Wow eight miles!!! :angryfire: :eek:hno: :eek:hno: that is too much I would take it back to the dealership.....

Just kidding :p I think those were necessary. There are hundreds of moving parts, I am glad that they drive and test the vehicles before I put my family in it.

Congratulations, it looks beautiful.

Thanks, and I'm not upset about the 8 miles. Do they have a test track at the factory or something? Is that part of the final inspection?

Is that law about the dealer putting 3 miles on it a state law? I've never heard of it before.

Netmag, do you have yours yet? I'm really happy with the color. I was concerned that it would look to much like baby blue. But it's more of a storm cloud grey (that's the best way I can describe it). It only looks blue in direct sun light.

No we don't have ours yet. We didn't order until the beginning of June so hopefully it'll only be a few more weeks.

We were able to see all of the colors in person and we liked the Blue-Gold the best. It really does change depending on the lighting moreso than any other color. I kind of liked the Platinum too but it just wasn't as unique as the Blue-Gold and my wife was 100% behind the Blue-Gold.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Crimson in person but it'll probably be a while before that shows up on dealer lots.

My factory order had 5 miles. I have factory ordered my last 7 cars. Between 3 and 15 ihas been typical for me. Remember, your warranty starts from the mileage it is sold to you with (not 0)

they test any type of machinery before they give it to you. i know it is not a car but have you ever bought a washing machine and wondered why water was coming out of it when they delivered. its because b4 they pack it to send to you they actually send it through several wash cycles to make sure that it is working properly. they even tested my scooter b4 they delivered it.

i am glad they test almost everything you buy, should decreese problems.
lol had to send the first machine back, they must have dropped it taking it off the truck, thing made so much noise in the spin cycle was unreal. sounded like nails on a chalkboard.

i was just trying to show how they test every thing b4 they actually deliver it to the consumer is all. ;D

really i have a washer that has done that for 3 months now and its 4 months old , half the time i come home and i find it tugging on the power cord in the middle of the laundry room, sometimes it pulls the cord out, it sounds just like you described except it MOVES.

i am cracking up thunder just thinking about the washer moving around in the laundry room. call them so they can come look at it as a matter fact tell them you want another one. when i called sears to express my concerns about what mine was doing, they said, we will send out a technician and i said oh no you won't you will come and pick this thing up and bring me another one and that is exactly what they did the very next day.
