Well, I have been on several long road trips in my accords and have never fallen asleep at the wheel while on re-circulate....I would more like die of asphyxiation from long-hauler exhaust!!

Well, yes, with the AC on usually. Since most of my long drives are between phoenix and San Diego or LA, that would be the case. I had not thought about what it would be like if it wasn't on.

Windows down...that is as bad as sucking down the truck exhaust with the fresh air button off!

Well, Thunder, isn't it lucky for you, living on the VA coast, to get to have all the fresh air....too bad I live in THE DESERT and have heat and pollution advisories all summer long!! hehehe... We are flying to SF tomorrow night for a wedding and driving PCH 1 for a nice long slow week without the kids...the fresh coastal air will be lovely!!!!

I don't even have a clue as to what our heat index is. It sucks, that's what it is. Why do I live here again? My husband is from VA and SC. I am from OR. All much more pleasant...wait - I have been to VA, NC, & SC every summer for the past 5 years. The air is "sweaty" there as my daughter says. OR is the only pleasant of those in the summer! Oh, California will be nice for 9 days!

OR = Oregon - it is the only pleasant place I have spent a summer. Not Arizona, Not Virginia, Not South Carolina, not Georgia. OK, California is pleasant. That is where I am going tonight!!! Wahooo! 9 days away from AZ heat.

This will make me nuts when we finally decide to do it. You are right, it is a poor design choice and I hope it is a programming issue that can be changed.
