Has anyone here actually bought from a dealer say 500+ miles away? Even though it was hard, I finally located the exact vehicle we want, but at a dealer 800 miles away. While we really don't want to order and wait for one, I am not sure if buying from a dealer so far away is a good idea. I am curious if we could transport it as I have gotten auto transport quotes for about $500. Or maybe I would just fly out and drive it home. Just wondered if anyone else has done this or not.

I ordered a Vehicle from a Dealer in Detroit before. After it arrived, I hopped on a Delta Earlybird to Detroit and Drove my New Riviera back. I enjoyed every minute of it. I would do it again today if I had to.
One of my Brothers did the same thing, I flew to Detroit with him and we drove his new Buick back.

If you want to save some greenbacks, buy from dealerships in the Detroit metro area. The dealers in Dayton/Cincy/Columbus are all asking for MSRP...one even said $1000 over MSRP for some of the popular dealer add-ons...rust protection, extra security features, pinstripe...the usual crap that dealers try.

Detroit dealers are reducing them by $3-$5k off MSRP.

I drove 300 miles in 4 hours to pick up mine.

Well worth it to me. The drive back was fantastic.
