While reading the manual I cam across the fact that the third row seats can be physically removed from the car. I presume for additional storage?

Has anyone tried this? How much effort is it? How much extra room do you actually get?

Thanks.

lift up tray in back and unscrew the plastic nuts. 1 on each side. remove tray. you will see 2 bolts in rear of each seat. remove then tilt up and pull back.

How much additional room does this produce?

If you look in the rear storage compartment, you can see the "floor" in the bottom; after you've removed the seat and the storage compartment, you'll have about 6.8 more cubic feet of storage space.

I just removed them to put leather covers on them then put them back. But its only about 3 or 4 inches deeper. For trips it might make a difference.
