Does everyone upgrade their CXL wheels? I've only seen a few instances of the base wheels - on the Buick website, in the Enclave brochure, and Rocketman's gallery. Has anyone seen the base wheels in person? And if so, what do you think of them? It seems like $900 is a lot for upgraded wheels. Thanks for any opinions you might have.

My opinion is that the upgraded wheels are worth it. I am not a huge wheel fan, but there was something missing/just not right with the base wheels. They reminded me too much of wheels from a Grandpa mobile. I am quite happy I spent the extra money.

Interesting question. I liked the standard CXL wheels more and that's what I ordered. Little more classy perhaps and not as blingy. Another factor was that everyone else seems to be getting chrome and I wanted something a little different. But then, I'm a Grandpa!

Hey zman, no offense at all. I've lived long enough to realize that being a grandparent is the best chapter of life. My little guys will enjoy the new Enclave with their Papa and the choice of wheels is no where as important as many other factors. By the way, just because I'm retired doesn't mean that I'm not "with it". Check out the avatar of my "67 Stingray! ;)

I saw two Enclaves over the weekend both had the standard 19"s on them. I agree with zman for the missing part they definitely looked like something is missing, may be because every single picture I have seen has them.

For me it is a $900 question, since I am going to lease I care less about them. I would prefer using the $900 towards the Backup Camera a.k.a Nav system which will be more useful for me.

I had already noticed that. I tried to blow up the avatar to get a better look, but no luck. Not that it is the same thing, but I owned an 04 convertible for a while. Very fun.

with all the chrome trim on the grill, windows and bumper the wheels really look good in chrome. But I'm biased.

If you had lights included in the pix it would have looked funny, for some reasons I can't get passed the front look :banghead: I am still getting it regardless :thumb:

I personally don't see anything wrong with the standard 19" rims at all, but that's just me.

I'm not old yet either and I do pay attention to the rims because I think they can make or break a car, yet I still think the standard 19s look absolutely fine to me.

I guess that'll just be $900 more bucks that I can put towards the slightly overpriced NAV system that for some reason I've decided I must have. :)

I saw a White Diamond and Platinum both with Standard 19"s. They looked fine. I guess if you are going to select some dark exterior color like Red or Cocoa then Chrome would be missed. If I ended up ordering mine, then I will not get the Chrome wheels, but if I ended up picking one from the lot then I get whatever type of wheels it has.

Hey i was just wondering if there is an automatic wheel content credit when you get the chromes, cause i built one and then printed out the sheet and it had the wheels as only like $900 or something, also we arent in a chrome package state..

I have the standards, and yeah, they look pretty good. However, I want some phat 22s on my biatch! Ethel don't be playin' playa. ;D

In all honesty, I thought the I could do without the $900 upgrade, and test the waters of the aftermarket rims, with a bigger wheel for that kind of money. Just my opinion.

Mine is just on order (sadly), but I opted for the standard CXL 19's... and then used the grand or so I saved towards picking out some 22's. This way I have summer and winter wheels, and 2 sets of tires. yes it costs more, but now I get two sets of wheels, summer and winter tires, and IMO both sets of wheels look better than the 19" factory chrome wheels (especially my chosen 22's of course).

:thumb: We got the chrome because:
:sunny: I thought they look better with the Cocoa metallic paint.
:thumb: 7 spoke design is easier to wash than the 15 spoke standard.
:blob: There was a $1,000 credit when ordering a "chrome package"
 The $900 cost was only $300 ($10/month) on a lease

Got pics of those 22s? I'm really curious.

The standard 19's that I saw on the CXL had a slightly golden hue and looked fantastic.

The chrome wheels look like they belong in the ghetto. Too much bling.

And 22's? What on earth?! Overkill IMO!
