Put in the order yesterday for a CXL AWD Cocao Metallic with the extras. Dealer estimates 10 weeks. I'm hoping it will arrive in time for the Conquest discount, which runs through July 9. Good experience all around.

Awesome! Congrats, GoTerps. I think you might be the first one on here to pull the trigger on an Enclave!

Congrats GoTerps! When you get authorized, see if you can post a link to the Enclave manuals like the Acadia's.

Wayne,

Thanks for links. I didn't know these were on-line. I will do the same when I get access to the Enclave manuals.

GoTerps!
New here to the board.

I have been watching this car since it was a concept. I have participated in the Buick customer site for 6 months or so. I have seen it twice now. Once at the Chicago Show (with the cut away) and got to sit in one at the Peoria show. Mine is on order since FEB 26th. I expect it late May.
CXL, AWD, Cocao, loaded. I haven't heard the conquest discount but I'll be sure to discuss when it's in. Paying about GM supplier price.

I expect to see a lot of them in the midwest, although there are a lot of RX's here!!!
Buick,

What would you compare the Enclave interior to? Did you feel comfortable and ready to drive for 10+hrs. What were the 2 or 3 items that make you feel comfortable in pulling the trigger without a test drive. What are the 2 or 3 items that sold the car to you?
My Dad has a Lacerne, so I expect the seats to be similar.
I drove the Acadia, I expect the Buick to be similar and possible slightly quieter.
Runs on REG gas. That is a big deal over time.
MPG on par with others and still a large CUV
Styling was key. Absolutely gorgeous. Wish they would have kept the fold down tray tables from the concept, but I knew they probably would not. I like the wood. I'm a big fan of Lexus interiors. This one is good, but a little busy.

And most of all the dealer did not make me put anything down since he knew he could sell it regardless. So having a customer order on top of his allocation is a no-brainer for him. So I have little risk.

I don't expect to turn it down. My wife would kill me, it's for her.

I used to be a regular Buick driver, but left when they went with On Star and Lexus introduced a great navigation system. We saw the Enclave, Acadia, and Outlook at the Washington DC and Baltimore auto shows. We were interested in the Crossover cars. We never had a SUV; didn't want one because of the rough ride, noise, and I do my very best to drive on paved roads. But, we commute to the ocean often, so we thought a Crossover would do it. I came away from the DC show with 5 candidates: Caddy SRS, BMW X5, MB M-Class, Acura MDX, and Enclave. I read up on those, looked some more, and then narrowed my list to the MDX and Enclave. Test drove the MDX and the Acadia. This was a tough one, because I was hoping one would outshine the other, but both were great. In the end, I went for the value. I simply got more with the Enclave. Okay, I should have waited, but Spring is here, and Summer starts soon. I'd like some time with it at the beach this year, and of course it will be ready for tailgating at Terps' games in the fall.

Go Terps!

Glad to hear you could hardly tell a difference between the MDX and Acadia.

For those who are more cost sensitive there are 3 others that I saw at Chicago Auto Show that are nice but not high end luxury.
Highlander (new 08 model), Veracruz and CX-9.
Buick, or others

The Enclave was a notch up or 2 on the CX-9. The Enclave does appear to be not quite as refined as the Acura from being in an Acura but not in a Enclave(only from pictures).

I'm hoping the Enclave pictures do not do justice to the interior and feel of the car?

Since I missed the NY Autoshow, How is '08 Higlander compared to Acadia/Enclave? I am more concerned about a useful 3rd row seat with easy in & out also how is it's overall size compared to Lambdas?

From reading previews and specs, the 08 Highlander still doesn't appear to be even close to the Lambdas in dimensions. It's 13 inches shorter, the novel capts-to-bench seat looks unusable by a human, which means it'll stay hidden 99% of the time, I'd imagine. And from the pics, the rear seats look absolutely tiny. I'll try to find full specs for a better comparison. While it is a slight improvement in looks over the previous gen, it's still pretty boring IMO, and doesn't even come CLOSE to the Enclave in looks...

Nothing very exciting to me!
Ewhh :puke:
I will sum it up in to one word "Toyota". As always boring & ugly.

I thought of exact same thing when I looked at captain to bench conversion option. It is only good for babies under six months old and fortunately for them, they have to sit in the infant car seat ;D which also can't fit in six-inch of hip room.
i've had my Enclave for a couple weeks, drove an Acura MDX prior to buying the Enclave and must say i thought the Enclave beat the MDX in most categories and was quite a bit less money when you equip them equally-at least for what i want on a vehicle. the Enclave is much more vehicle and i felt was comparable in interior look and feel, but was much quieter and had a lot better styling. i've been looking extensively for 6 months(i'm retired, so lots of time to harrass dealers ;D) and drove almost everything out there from mercedes to bmw to lexus, vw, honda acura, mazda, ford, cadillac , toyota, saab, chevrolet, gmc, volvo, and some i've forgotten. the only vehicle close to winning me over was the mercedes benz R320 CDI. very similiar in size to Enclave, great comfy ride and handling, and excellent fuel mileage with the diesel, but drawbacks were exterior styling, MB history of repair/maint costs, and price was 15k more if you add features to be equal to each other. the only area that the benz beat the enclave was the seats-they were great and 15k will buy alot of gas. Enclave is the first new car that has really caught my eye and got me excited since i got the 10th 97 corvette C5 produced and this one is practical!!

it is admin....

that 3rd row is totally useless just like most of the suv's that have 3rd rows.... the cadillac srx, mazda cx9, toyota highlander and the toyota rav4 (dont even know why that tried to squeeze 3rd row in rav4) all useless. :angryfire:

the lambda's :blob:   :notworthy:
