After looking at the wonderful Buick Enclave brochure (much taller than the Acadia or Outlook brochures for some reason), my craving for more pictures has been driving me a little crazy.

In the August 2007 edition of Motor Trend on page 37 is a 9 page advertising section from Buick dedicated to the Enclave. It's like a second brochure. The pictures are stunning and have my "Buick Enclave" fever in overdrive. I wish I had a link or a scan of them for you, but you'll just have to stop at the store and grab the August Motor Trend magazine for yourself (available June 28).

Some of the text:

The Connoisseurs Crossover: Buick's gorgeous new Enclave raises the bar on luxury crossovers, joining innovative design with meticulous craftsmanship.

Think of Enclave as your personal spa for the road.

much more in the 9 pages.

If you have one on order and find yourself wandering Buick lots on Sunday's looking at the ones on the lot, check out the ad section. It will get you through another day without an Enclave..

Believe me, when you have one on order and are waiting patiently, you wander the lots everyday you can. Sunday's are for not getting the sales person all excited and being able to get close enough you drool all over the windows looking inside!

Believe it or not - We should take delivery of our enclave this afternoon.
The car had been sitting in Montreal (l hour away) for over 1 week.
This time we are going to the dealer not to look through the window but tp drive the car away.

If that is the same insert that was in Car and Driver this month - that thing made me almost hurl. I love our Enclave but the verbiage in that was a little over the top. I'll try to post some quotes tonight but they try to pass the vehicle off as some type of religious experience.

As promised...

"Stylish? It has all the swoop of an aerobatics routine or and Oscar-night procession of gowns."

"In the rhythmically rising and falling lines, energy amasses. The rear pillars slant forward, seeming to raise Enclave in readiness. The wheel spokes uncoil in anticipation. Who could doubt that, for those fortunate enough to occupy Enclave's cabin, a fine foray awaits."

OK, after reading it all again, these are the main points that I thought were a little over-done. Maybe not as bad as I remember, but still....

The rest of it is actually more fact based.

What kind of magazine was this? Sounds a bit risque! ;)

I just wish that GM would put as much effort into building them as advertising them.
hmmm, well that doesnt sound good because they haven't advertised them adquatley in my opinion. i have seen an enclave commerical on regular tv maybe one or two times, i see them on the food network (cable channel) all the time. now, how many people watch food network?
now the onstar commerical i see every day.

So they are gearing this for women? Why not air the commercial on ESPN or SPIKE TV?

I haven't seen any Enclave commercials on regular TV. Only the OnStar commercial. I haven't seen any Enclaves on the road other than mine.
I kinka hope no one else in my area gets one, at least for a while. It's realy kinda cool to have the only Enclave around. Wife is really loving
all the head turning and the uuhs and ahs.

Nothing against Buick for placing these ads, but the magazines seem a bit shifty for accepting them. In both cases they're made to look like editorial, not ads. They both say "advertisement" or "advertising section," but not in a way that's easy to notice.

It certainly wouldn't look good for the magazines to accept these ads then give the Enclave a critical review. Not that they would anyway...

are you kidding? we have read reviews that totally ripped the enclave inside and out but judging from their review we could also tell that they had never been inside an enclave let alone tested one. seemed their reviews were from pictures/other reviews.
