Wanted to replace my blown amplifier so the radio/turn signal/phone hands-free speakers work. However, it will still require programing the amp to the radio. Our mechanic is unable to code/program it and directed us to a dealership.

Question - Does the AMP have to be removed for it to be programed/coded to radio?

Saw several views...any thoughts if the dealership is the only entity that can program the new amp? If yes, do they need to remove the amp to do it?

Not sure if you still need any information, but it is extremely rare to have to remove any component in order to program it. Components can be programmed through the diagnostic connector using an interface tool. There may be some shops other than the dealership that can perform the programming. Good luck.
