Buick Enclave reliability - how will it compare? (please sign up if you're new)

In late 2005 I started conducting my own car reliability research. I'm reporting absolute stats like "times in the shop" that will make the differences between cars much clearer. Relative ratings obscure too much--how large is the difference between "better than average" and "worse than average"? I’ll also be updating results four times a year, so there will be information on new models sooner.

For example, TrueDelta will have the first reliability information on the Acadia and Outlook, in August. The owner/admin of this forum also owns an outstanding GMC Acadia forum, and I am very grateful for his help informing people about this research.

I hope to similarly start providing reliability information on the Enclave within months of when it goes on sale.

To encourage participation, panel members receive full access to the results free of charge.

Update: TrueDelta now has a separate results page for each model that includes the scores of competitors for easy comparisons. The one for the Buick Enclave:

I sure wish I was signing up on Tuesday. :banghead:
Re: Buick Enclave reliability - how will it compare?

Still just seven signed up. I've had a much stronger response from Acadia and Outlook owners.

I'll happily sign up... in a few weeks when ours arrives.

Guys, truedelta.com is a great service that will only help to improve GM and these Lambdas. Just like on Acadiaforum.net, I'm hoping to reach 100% participation with truedelta.com for all of our Enclave owners. It takes less than a minute a month to fill out a survey, and that's only if you had to take it in for service. Very little work to help contribute to a great resource.

Note: truedelta.com is not a sponsor, I simply believe this is a valuable resource and hope everyone else can see the value in what Michael is trying to do. I see a ton of people complain about Consumer Reports, Motortrend, etc being biased, but this guy is actually doing something about it! :)
Re: Buick Enclave reliability - how will it compare?

Thanks for the support, admin.

So far 11 of these are signed up. If I'm going to have results in November, I need at least a couple dozen more soon.
Re: Buick Enclave reliability - how will it compare?

OK, I'm in.
Re: Buick Enclave reliability - how will it compare?

We've had ours a little over a month. No problems at all...yet! :)

I wouldn't assume you're going to have problems. Many vehicles don't these days.

Now 20 enrolled in the panel. Thanks, guys. This month's survey email will go out next Tuesday.

I signed up yesterday! It only takes a 1/2 minute.
I hope I don't forget to signup when mine comes in. Might be next year and I may lose my mind before that. Who knows? LOL

I can give you a real good answer to this! Buick was #3 but Buick just took the #1 spot away from Lexus. This is based on the last three years and comes from J D Powers.
Take a look at this: http://www.autonews24h.com/Auto-Industry/Buick/2019.html
The VDS is based on the number of problems three-year-old cars have had in the past year. It does not cover the first three years of ownership. And it says nothing about years 4+, when repairs are especially important because the warranty is often over.

Another thing to realize is that Buick is no longer selling any of the models that earned this award. The LaCrosse and Lucerne might also do well. The early record of the Acadia and Outlook is not good. Hopefully it's just first-year jitters, and GM has already identified and fixed the bugs.
mkaresh, how do I sign up, now that I have my Enclave?
Thanks, another Enclave will be very helpful.

Thanks. I should be on now. Gees this is a nice car. We believe we like it better than the Denali and that is saying something. Could use a supercharger.
