I was thinking the same about the 2008s. If the data is collected to reflect repair rates only during a recent time span, many of the 2008 Enclave's common early arising problems may not be included in the stats any longer.

New comment - I am playing around with the quote features and just not getting the right characters where they need to be - sorry.

I have an '08 and haven't experienced any of the mechanical / sunroof headaches that most anyone else has.

:welcome: I see you have made yourself very comfortable with posting already! I hope you find a lot of VERY useful information thru this forum. As the Enclave also shares the same under carriage as the Saturn Outlook, Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia: you may find these forums useful as well. You can find their direct links in the top right of the home page of this forum. Good luck, Good to see new users that are as excited as the rest of us that have been around here for awhile.

Our reliability stats for the Enclave now include owner experiences through March 31, 2014, making them nearly a year ahead of other sources.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2014 Enclave: 70, high
2013 Enclave: 34, moderate
2012 Enclave: 12, low
2011 Enclave: 42, moderate
2010 Enclave: 66, moderate
2009 Enclave: 75, moderate
2008 Enclave: 66, moderate

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2013 Enclave: 63, < 1
2012 Enclave: 87, < 1
2011 Enclave: 65, < 1
2010 Enclave: 57, < 1
2009 Enclave: 52, 3
2008 Enclave: 57, 3

Thank you, once again, everyone who has been helping. Next update in August.

Responding to some earlier posts:

It's very rare for a "common problem" to affect more than 10-15 percent of all cars.

The stats always cover the past four quarters, so old repairs aren't reflected. Also realize that the repair frequency tends to drop when the warranty ends.

Hello I own a 2009 Buick Enclave with about 38,000 miles on it. I am the only owner this automobile has ever had and I have properly maintained this car. I purchased the Buick and a GMC Envoy (also new) between the recalls and other problems that a 38,000 mile car should not have I will never buy another GM. I believe in buying American but GM has made me look at Lincoln's, and Toyota's and I am not unhappy with what I am seeing.

Assuming that the data is from a large enough pool to be statistically significant and truly representative of the entire model years, the 2012 Enclave seems to be the year to buy, so far.

Signing up. Just leased a new 2014 Buick Premium Enclave on Monday of this week. Traded a 2012 Cadillac Performance SRX in. The Enclave is head and shoulders above the SRX. Much quieter, more comfortable and the Buick Intellilink system puts the radio/nav in the Cadillac to shame.

Re: (please sign up if you're new)

I haven't posted here for quite a while. Bought my first Enclave in June 2009, and have been very happy with it, planning to keep it until 2016. Then I saw an ad the other day where Buick was offering 20% cash back on select Enclaves. Found one on my dealer's website exactly like I would want, made contact, and got a real good deal and very fair trade. The new Enclave is a 2015 Premium FWD in Crimson Metallic with Ebony interior. I am delighted with its appearance, ride and features. I'm one happy guy... :thumb:

Ah, so you got the Black Friday sale. 20% can be a lot on one of these.

Updated reliability stats soon, and we happen to especially need more 2015s :)

New stuff this time. We've updated our reliability stats for the Enclave to include owner experiences through the end of 2014. Plus we've added reliability trends graphs. These indicate how a model's reliability has changed as it has aged, and how different model years performed when the same age.

2013 Enclave: 23, low
2012 Enclave: 24, low
2011 Enclave: 53, moderate
2010 Enclave: 69, high
2009 Enclave: 80, high
2008 Enclave: 77, moderate

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2013 Enclave: 75, < 1
2012 Enclave: 84, < 1
2011 Enclave: 59, < 1
2010 Enclave: 48, 3
2009 Enclave: 48, 6
2008 Enclave: 46, 3

Just purchased a 2008 Enclave with 113000 miles on it, I took it for inspection and it has oil leaks in the front timing cover, the rear seal and is leaking in the steering gear. The dealer (Perry Buick in Norfolk) is charging me a ridiculously high amount of money to repair these leaks: $3000, Other than that I will need to replace struts ($650) and axle ($650).

To fix my steering pump noise they are charging $1300, way too much!!

I should say that I feel like the dumbest person in the world for having purchased this car. I have a Hyundai with more than 1700000 miles and none os f this issues.

What is your advise? What should I do?

It sounds like you should have done your due diligence BEFORE purchasing an 8 year old vehicle with that many miles.
