Mine had the small (4.7L) V-8 which was low on the power end, under 200 HP if I remember correctly, but it liked the gas. It would get around 18 to 19 mpg on the highway if I was lucky. The Enclave has over 300 HP and gets close to 10 more mpg on the highway. I'm sure a new V-6 Grand Cherokee has similar power and mpg or at least a lot closer than the one I had.

Jeep also had a 4.7 HO engine that put out a lot more hp without losing much fuel economy. The Enclave 9-speed tranny really moves this heavy vehicle off the line. In FWD it burns rubber. I hate that but nice to know the power is there if you need it.

After 16 months and 16000 miles the 2021 E Premium has been a very good car. Two resent trips to the Outer Banks and a golf trip to Willimsburg Va.
