I have not seen anything indicating that it has one.

Dese the Enclave coem with cabin filter? What are the advantages and disadvantages? :help: :help: :help:
I don't know of one, however if you carefully lower the glove compartment and remove the thumb screws you can get to the ventilation system. There is some sort of door there that looks like it could be for a cabin air filter. I'm waiting for Helm Inc. to release the Enclave service manual to find out what that is.

If you find info about a cabin filter for the Enclave, could you post the info?

Is replacing it part of the scheduled maintainance? I don't recall seeing it. Our other car also has a cabin filter, and they want it changed every oil change.
If it is anything like the ones in my old Tahoe, they will get filthy quickly. I changed mine about every year and they were so packed I was amazed there was still airflow!

He didn't say it was required maintenance, but I can only imagine it requires it fairly regularly. I live off a 2 mile dirt road up the side of the mountain and we get a lot of dust. I'll be cleaning/changing mine every 3-4 months. He did say it could be cleaned (shop vac).

Techno, great info! THX! I'll be looking for mine tomorrow! I bet it needs replacing/cleaning w/every other oil change. Why breathe dust?? :thumb:

Just spoke to my Dealers Parts Dept. Filter number is # 25837964. He said it's a "cover & filter assembly " piece. He found it under GMC ACADIA!! NOT Enclave. Says once a year replacement is average interval. He had to order @ $33. A quick check to GMPARTSDIRECT.com (in advanced search by #) showed it for $20, plus $11 ship/handle! And they don't take it back! I ordered from my dealer,as there is some ambiguity still. He works with me! Will post upon arrival :thumb:

I agree to change it often. About every 15,000 miles at least or once a year.

Is this cabin filter supposed to filter out pollen and such?
This cabin filter is a puzzle. When the Enclave began production, I contacted Buick to find out whether the Enclave would have a pollen filter to filter cabin air. (My wife has allergies.) Buick said no. So what is this cabin filter? Maybe it just filters out dust and passes through finer particles like pollen.

I'd suspect it is for dust. Though, I'm sure with enough patience and some engineering skills, you might be able to create something that filters allergens too (think Home Depot and washable filters for HVAC units).

What it looks like may determine what it does. If its tightly knit accordion type 1 inch deep, then its probably a pollen filter. If its translucent, then its just for dust and debris.

What I have found was that forgetting to change a real pollen filter can cause a bad musty smell in the cabin since the filter does accumulate and then grow mold.

Does anyone have a photo of one of these filters?

See if you can photo-document the install process too. I'm curious just how hard it'll be to get underneath the flashing and to the filter from inside the engine compartment. I plan on giving it a try in about 3 months myself. Going to try cleaning it the first time or two and then replacing it.

OK. Just saw the "Cabin Filter/Cover assembly" which I mentioned above. Part # 25837964. It is nothing more than a screen, INCAPABLE of catching pollen or dust, based on the screens mesh size. It would catch broken leaves or other visible debris , but not a true filter of air, at all. I didn't buy it. Parts guy says "that's all folks".
Guess that there is no true "pollen, air" filter for Enclave?

Bummer. Must be another one of GM's "corporate think" decisions - i.e. less trouble so lets not make the product better.

I might try to put in a pollen filter mesh on top of ours and see how it works. Wal-Mart and K-Mart have them and you can cut them to size.
