Hi everyone,

I have a 2010 Buick Enclave. She has given me minor problems, drives well and everything. Recently, the check engine will turn on and off and when I get a computer read on it, it says i have a misfire and to try a decarbonization or something like that. Anybody care to explain what this is and if it's gonna be a costly repair.

Thank you,

Cristian

You need to narrow the misfire down to which cylinder(s). Then go from there. It could be as simple as changing the spark plugs, coil packs, Mass Air Flow Sensor, and air filter.

youre saying your Check engine light is FLASHING when youre driving?

Flashing check engine- means- something is happening in the engine-(misfires) that may damage the Emissions system. Pull over as soon as possible.
SOLID check engine light- have the vehicle checked soon.

Use the scanner- and look to see which cylinder is misfiring. You can actually see the misfire count.
Also check for PENDING codes.... which will point to an issue.

You may be able to clean enough carbon from the cylinder/sealing surface of the valves, by using Techron Concentrate Plus.
