Disappointing Dealers

I was hoping to place my order today but came home frustrated from the dealerships.

I left from work early, my first stop Mack's GMC Pontiac Buick in hicksville, NY. I spoke to my salesman yesterday and told him that I would like to place the order up on which he asked me to stop by anytime today between 12 -8PM. I arrvied at the dealership around 3:30PM my salesman greeted me at the door, took me to his desk and before I even sat down he said, he can't place the order since GM doesn't allow him to do so until June. I got really mad hearing that :angryfire: I asked him why did he ask me to come here if he couldn't order to which he said that he didn't know this yesterday, so when I asked him why didnt he call this morning and let me know then i didn't believe what he said... he said he has 50 people inquiring about these cars he can't call everyone!!!! I got so angry hearing that I dont even remember what I said, but I said mouth full I know. I left and will never return to that place again.

My second stop was a place much closer to my home. The salesman there was not budging and insisted me that Special order or not the price is MSRP. After much said, I pulled my cards and showed him the Supplier Discount authorization, so he agreed with the supplier pricing not a penny less. Which may be fine, if the monthly payments become any reasonable. The 39 months 39K miles lease he quoted me was a whopping $662.21 per month with taxes and everything included in the monthly payment. If i pay the taxes up front then it goes down to $595.66 per month!!! This is outrageous!

I mean I can get an Audi q7 with a sticker of 50K+ for $525 a month while this 42K vehicle is going to cost me $595! obviously there is some special calculations going on.

I have contacted a couple of other dealers, I will keep you posted.

Many thanks to admin for the leasing link, using the lease calculator the monthly payment is coming close to $530/mo with taxes up front a $65/mo difference!

I hope the other two dealers will use the same calculator ;-)

I don't know why did I go there. I didn't like him the first time. One thing for sure will never go there again.
yes, i had a rude dealership also and i refuse to go go back to them. plus i called and complained... it wasnt just rudeness it was more than that... they are right down the street from me 2. im using the dealership that is further away.
That will be the case with me as well, the two options now are further away from my home. However close to my work. Lets see what happens. Since these vehicle are so hot they know they r going to sell them, that may the reason for being rude and arrogant, i think this should be the time to gain customer and improve GM's image. Anyways if the other two come out to be the same, i will spend my money somewhere else.
there is never an excuse for rudeness or arrogance especially when you are in the business of customer service.
I had problems locally once, and I called a dealer in Detroit, made arrangements, ordered, was notified of finished, date, flew to Detroit, dealer picked me up at Airport, took care of details, hit I-75 Southbound and never looked back. I rather do that than put up with a lot of ( expletive deleted).

You can order from any dealer and have the vehicle shipped to your local dealer for delivery. That should make them mad!!! ;D We did that back in 1998. We ordered a new Astro van from the dealer in NW Indiana where we used to live. He always gave us within a few dollars of Supplier Price, without being qualified, anytime we bought cars from him. He had it delivered from the factory down to a dealer in Hickory NC, cost us an additional $100 so the dealer would prep it. We drove the 60 or so miles there and picked it up!!!! The dealers around here would not deal with us at all on the Astro van ta that time. So much for southern hospitaility!!!

As you drive away you can tell them what to kiss!!!!! :cheers:
Like I stated ins everal different blogs....GM...BUICK better get theri stuff (salemans) trained if they want to become a major player again...

I had to go to 4 dealerships to get any questions answered for this vehicle......

It took a Chevy Manager to astually say the Buick so called Manager was an Idiot and he would take orders for the enclave.....I actually drove over an hour and a half to a dealership where they knew what was going on concerning this vehicle......

All it takes is a couple of days of training and putting out info to the troops.......and it can make such a difference........

BUICK YOU GOT A GOOD THING WITH THE ENCLAVE DONT BLOW IT BECAUSE OF STUPIDDITY...................
Why lease when it's that expensive when it will be about the same (or just a little more) to just buy it?
I ordered a CXL AWD model fully loaded, May 21, 2007. Today the dealer tells me that the manufacturer is having a problem with the PCK luxury package and this will delay production. He does not know for how long. Has anyone heard of this delay at the manufacturer? Meanwhile, the order status code is 2000. Does this status code, really mean anything?

i think that is what i am going to do.... have it delivered to the dealer who would not help me and i will do what you said jracer:

GM better wake up on the lease "deals", In my area you can get Lexus and Mercedes that have higher stickers for $450 to $489. When you talk luxury and expensive rides people like to lease. They feel they get more car for less money.

That said I bought mine. As I drive mine for 7+ yrs.
My point exactly, I have seen newspaper adds for Audi Q7, Navigator, Lexus and MDX all of them have much higher MSRP but still the monthly lease payments are less than what my Buick dealer has been asking. I dont know how he was calculating though, cause using the information he provided my lease payment should be around $530/mo with roughly $3500 due at signing.

Maybe they are reprogramming or re-gearing the power telescoping steering column for greater gage visability. Seems some taller drivers are complaining.

coopermine, send a note to shappy he works for edmunds.com and has expressed on here in earlier posts that he can show you how to get the best deal for the lease option.
