Hi all,

Just ordered an Enclave (Red Jewel Tint CXL). I have a few days to modify my order before the order is accepted by the factory. The only option we did not get is the Driver Confidence Package (we did get the Luxury package).

Why are people getting the confidence package? We live in California and don't need the remote start to warm up our car. The other reason to get the confidence package is for the backup ultrasonic . . . but we have the backup camera with the NAV system.

What do you all think?

i live in california also, the remote start is a great option for me. we had some really cold nights last year during winter and the summers are really hot. the remote start not only heats up your car but it also cools it off. i really wish i had this on my volvo, after a long day at the mall w/the car parked in the beaming sun, omg, i can feel the heat as soon as i open the door.

gl w/your decision.

I originally placed my order without the drivers confidence package because I thought the options were a waste. I decided to add it after reading about the poor visibility behind the vehicle (no backup camera). Now, I'm really glad I have it. The rear park assist helps and I just back in to the driveway when I get home so I won't be suprised by kids when I leave. Thanks to the rear park assist I haven't run into the house once. ;)

The remote start is fantabulous. Our summers are HOT so it's nice to be able to cool the car before going for a drive. It's good for a chuckle too when someone walks past your car and you get to watch them jump.

As for the heated windshield washer fluid: I've only seen snow 3 times since birth so to me this feature is useless.

Ultrasonic is nice if you for some reason need to park really close to something, like backing up to a wall in a parking garage, but honestly front ultrasonic comes in more handy for those kinds of situations.

The remote start however is equally useful for summer as for winter... nothing like blazing hot leather when you climb in with shorts. :eek:hno:

And lastly for $520 it adds a great bling factor to remotely start the car walking out of the mall, especially when people are walking or standing near vehicle

Hi all,

I am getting the NAV system -- how does it integrate with the ultrasonic?

Also, does the ultrasonic add the little dime size dimples to the rear bumper? If so, how does this look?

I believe the backup camera and ultrasonic remain two independent systems. You can have either one, neither one, or both installed. As for the sensors, from all the pictures I've seen they are pretty inconspicuous... similar to what you might find on most other luxury marques. They don't seem to be anything like as noticeable as what you'd find on a Cadillac Escalade or Lincoln Navigator, for example (both of those, if I recall correctly, have very obvious sensors that don't integrate into the bumper line well).

Hello all. This is my first post. My wife & I finalized our purchase of a white opal CXL last night, It is in transit to the dealer now. They are saying day-to-day on the arrival. She is really ready!

Now on to my question: Has anyone seriously looked into adding factory remote start to a vehicle that does not have it from the factory?

Check out this thread on acadiaforum:

Apparently, these vehicles come ready to perform the remote start/stop. All he got was a new set of key fobs (with the remote start button) and some instructions for the dealer on how to do the reprogramming to activate the option.
