Hi all!
I am new to the forum. I wanted to give you my take on the Enclave. I drove several of them last week, both on a closed course at FedEx Field and on the road. I was blown away at how beautiful these vehicles are!! They did a great job on the design. The pictures I've seen in the media do not do it justice.
We also drove the Acura MDX and the Lexus RX 350 on the same course. The Acura has more acceleration than the Enclave, but the handling is no better. The Lexus was a little scary. Tossing it back and forth in tight slaloms resulted in what felt like hydraulic lock in the steering and there was much more body roll. The Enclave, like it's Acadia sister, felt confident and well-planted, although could use a little more horsepower for my taste.
On the road the ride is very similar to the Acadia, but noticeably quieter! It has a little less engine noise and a lot less road noise.
Those sitting on the fence between and Enclave and an Acadia may want to consider waiting until they hit the dealer's lots and comparing them head-to-head.
By the way, I love my Acadia, but I really, really like the Enclave....Kind of wishing I had taken my own advice.....
