Anyone who owns one, when you stop the vehicle and get out, do you hear some sort of high pitched whistling type noise that lasts for about 15 seconds?

I believe there is another thread about this somewhere. Can't remember what it was making the noise, but it was normal. AC compressor or a pump?

Yep, it's normal. IIRC it is actually something transmission related.

Here's the link:

i really dont think it's the transmission.
when i park the car in the garage even at day the lights go on.
when the lights shut off the noise stops.
i believe it's the high intensity lights .
i'm an electrician and experience this often.
i could be wrong but to me it really seems to be it.

Mine does not follow the timing of the headlights. It stays on longer if I remember correctly, but I know it does not coincide with the headlights going off.
It is the transmission. This has been gone over again and again on the Acadia forum. I heard it happen when the lights don't go on.
Has anyone noticed a loud vibrating noise, like bass from a stereo, when the car is in reverse or idling at a stop light? It goes away when I hit the gas.

No. That's a new one for me.
I thought it might be a break-in issue but I still notice it 400 miles later. Guess I'll be making a trip to the dealership.
You might have the dealer look at the Idle speed. Maybe ??
