Ok, a neat little discovery: that compartment on top of the dash holds the EZ pass transponder without the use of tape, and the toll booth sensor reads the EZ pass transponder right through the compartment cover.

For those of you who don't live in the Northeast, EZ Pass is a transponder that pays your tolls without your having to stop at the toll booth. Florida has a similar idea called Sun Pass.

The Chicago area has something they call I-pass which is linked to the EZ-pass network. I have Ipass & it worked on the WV Turnpike which uses EZpass. Neat that the transponder can be read from the dash compartment! No need to stick on the windshield.

Hey, that's a cool idea, I wasn't sure what I would do with that compartment since here in FL I think the heat would melt most things I'd put in there. Now I just have to wait till December when I get my Enclave to try it out!

I would think that it would more likely melt if it was directly mounted to the windshield in direct sunlight.
