Some idiot slammed their red door into the rear passenger side quarter panel of the clave a few days ago and put a dent over the crease that runs around the wheel well. Just once I would like to catch someone doing that, there is no way it was accidental, people just don't care. My wife is taking better than me :angryfire: I think the dent can be reached through the wheel well, going to check on paintless dent repair. Thanks, needed to vent a little.

On CSI they would analyse the paint and narrow it down to a red XXXXX and then queston and look for dents in the 300 cars to find the criminal.

I'm with I wish I could catch someone just once. 1998 Honda 4 dents on the passenger side. Wife works at a mall......

We live in a small town and it happened at work so I'm sure we could narrow it down, but then you have to prove it. She runs a salon and parks across the street from work, pretty sure it was someone doing it intentionally or one of her "blue hairs" as I call them. I know, a little crude, but it's the truth. ;D Oh well, it's just a car, but it's so new and so beautiful.

Got my first dent/ding on the 'Clave today - it's not even a month old and has less than 1000 miles on it. I was at my company picnic and when I returned to my car, there was a nice fresh crease/scratch on the driver's door - I'm hopping mad tonight just wishing I could remember what car parked next to me so I could get some revenge ... I guess tomorrow I call the "Dingman" to see if they can get it out - this just makes me sick :puke:

Gosh, my heart goes out to you folks, I dread the day too, I know it's only a matter of time but I can't stand the idea of the Enclave being marred. This is the first car, I'm still picking dirt pieces off the floor of when I get in, and I've had it since August... :help:

I had my Clave for less than a month ( late June ) and had a Semi fling a Golf Ball Sized rock and it hit the front bumper chrome leaving a nice dent then bounced off of my Wind shield leaving a small chip right in front of my eyesight line! The worst of it was we were going from Sebring Florida to Springfield Ohio and was less than 150 miles from our destination!!
It did show how tough the Windshield is! We were doing 70 MPH. What can you do?

So sorry to hear! You gotta go on, but it sucks!! We park very selectively now, but never away from the crowds. That's where the smash and grabs take place......far from stores so they get away quick, with no one nearby to see them. at least in my area. In outer suburbs, this probably is a good idea to park alone however. Crime is lower!

Since my girls were young, I always reminded them to be careful with the doors.
Unfortunately, some people are not so careful. :'(

I bet many of you know this, but........WD-40 , the common blue can lubricant, is incredible at removing/dissolving tar and paint marks off cars!! Made many of my mall car-tastrophes go away! ;D

Had a double whammy so far: opened the rear gate while the vehicle was in the the garage and the gate contacted the garage door. I thought it barely touched it, but when I lowered the gate, I saw the the top silver paint had rubbed off showing the gray under coat. A few days laters, avoiding garage clutter, scraped the right fender on the garage wall (happens to be stucco).

We went to a festival this weekend and found a great parking spot three blocks from the activities. While we were enjoying ourselves someone parked between our car and the corner. They were parked illegally –way to close to the corner. In order to fit in that spot they hit the front of Burt leaving 4 small marks from the bolts on their front license plate. They left their car parked with the front end touching my Enclave. :eek:hno:

I wasn’t really happy about this jerk hitting my car and then leaving it there… but Mr. Axiama was extremely angry about it. He took pictures with his camera phone and then as a policeman drove by on a golf cart (festival time), Mr. Axiama complained to the officer. He then sent out an order for other officers to file a police report. As we waited for the officers to arrive Mr. Axiama listened to me carry on about how excessive this seemed given that I can’t even see the marks! Within five minutes the police arrived to “survey the damage.” To their credit, they didn’t laugh at us. Then, of course, the owners of the offending car arrived. Mr. Axiama (feeling sheepish at this point) went back and forth with the officers and the owner of the other vehicle. I basically tried to melt under my seat in mortification.

Anyway, Mr. Axiama decided not to file a police report for the four small marks, the policemen complimented his camera phone, and the other driver didn’t get a ticket for parking illegally. All in all, it wasn’t a good way to end a pleasant day. It’s just a car… it’s just a car… it’s just a car.

I hear ya. Nothing to report yet, but know it is just a matter of time. We just returned on a 4 day trip up through Michigan and always went to great care to watch where we parked. But, it seemed like somebody would find us no matter how far away we were from where we stopped to go inside. We stayed on the 4th floor of a hotel for 2 nights and I parked on the third level of a parking garage both nights where I could see it from our room. (Ya, I know I've got problems and the wife agree's when it comes to this vehicle.). There were hundereds of empty parking places on the other lower levels and both mornings I woke up with somebody parked right next to it. I was scared to go look both mornings. I did enjoy being able to use the remote from our room though and scare a couple while they were walking by, (childish, I know, but still fun). They had parked their Lexus a couple of spaces down, probably trying to avoid the same fate as me.

I am actually going to the extreme of clearing everything out on the half of the garage that my wife will park the Enclave in and even adjusted the garage door opener so that opening the tailgate won't result in an accidental scratch. While I'm at it, I am currently painting the garage interior (haven't decided on the floor yet). Yes, I'm that anal.
