For those with a build date of 8/13

Did any of you get a VIN number from the dealer yet? I have the same build date so I'm assuming the vehicle is built. Dealer told us to call next Wednesday and they should have the VIN and we can start writing the purchase order.

Yes, Wednesday and picked the car up today.
I guess my eyes are fooling me. I could've sworn I read that you picked up your car already. So you're saying your car was built last week and you picked it up the same week??? How'd you manage that? Please tell us, you must have some good connection. Congrats in getting the car and post some pics.
Still waiting for car, but got my VIN on Wednesday.
Dealer notified me that VIN was issued. Not sure what day it was produced, he called yesterday, (Saturday the 18th).
Expect to have it in hand by the end of the month :thumb:
Just talked to my dealer today. She's got the VIN since Saturday. :blob: She was told the vehicles are shipped at a central location that slows the delivering time further but the the estimate delivery is either by the end of the month (next week) or Sept 7. Now we gotta stop by tonight and write the purchase order so we can take advantage of the Conquest rebate. ;D
congrats :thumb:
flavaclav,

when did you order your enclave?
We ordered ours on May 21. They were taking the orders for Black already around that time, but they weren't building them yet.
Well, we paid for the Enclave yesterday. Total out the door - $44,864.64. Of course when we went out the door Flava wasn't there :'(. Maybe next week. We didn't get the Conquest because dealer said we can't have GM Supplier and Conquest at the same time :eek:hno:. I think some folks got both. Oh well. Dealer offered us extended warranty for $2,980 (7year/84K). That's the rate for having GM Supplier already so it's discounted. We have until we drive off to take it or it'll be regular price from then. Can someone tell us what you guys paid for your extended warranty? Also, of course, dealer tried to sell us more crap than what we need. I listed it here so you guys know what to expect.

FlavaClav -- 1st, congrats on your new Enclave. I have some thoughts for you on these options -- for the appearance protection, buy a good $10 bottle of nano-wax. For the leather, buy a bottle of leather cleaner and a bottle of leather conditioner -- probably no more than $20 for both. Savings to you: about $460.

Why bother with this? Your Enclave has the PASSIII key which has a chip embedded in the key -- it will immobilize the vehicle if it is not used to start the car. Plus, you have OnStar -- included the 1st year for free, the next 2 years if you only take Safe & Sound will be $400. Total savings to you: $950+

As for the tire/wheel protection plan and the windshield protection plan -- depending on your insurance coverage, you may not need this either -- these would fall into Comprehensive coverage, so you'd have to see how much your deductible is for this coverage. You would also need to check what, if any, kind of deductible there is for each of these coverages that they have offered. Plus, you'd want to check the restrictions, how difficult it will be to make a claim. Typically, this kind of coverage is simply a huge money-maker for the dealer and not a very good choice for the consumer.

From my view, I walk away from ALL this stuff that's simply going to line the dealer/salesperson's pockets with cash.

You and I are on the same wavelength :thumb:. We didn't get all these extra crap. I'm surprised they didn't offer pinstriping ;D. The only thing we're contemplating is the extended warranty. Reading on some old posts, I've read we can purchase the extended warranty for "new" cars as long as it is <12 months and <12K miles. I'm also checking with my insurance.
Our Enclave was built last week and we have received a VIN. We are told we should have our Enclave by the end of August early Sept.
how long does it take from build date to delivery date?
The dealer will tell you it'll take around 10 days. The most two weeks. It all depends of course how far from the hub is the destination. I'm sure west coast takes the longest.
Was told to expect delivery at the end of the month. Today I was driving by the dealer and saw it being unloaded. I was so excited I almost wrecked. Called the dealer and was told my salesman is out of town until Wed., but they were almost positive it is mine. They needed to inspect it and would call me when I could look at it. Well the dealer closed with no phone call to me. So I went and looked at it. It's everything we ordered minus the sunroof. I wanted to cry when will it ever end?

Ordered on June 1 I live in Il and the dealer ordered the chrome package(sunroof and seven-spoked chrome wheels) that says for Fl., Tx, and Ca residents, must specify R7C residency restriction override when the package is ordered outside of the approved areas. I asked the salesman multiple times if the sunroof was on the order and was told yes. On the next page of the order it even says included. I still felt like it was not right and called the next day to verifiy the sunroof was ordered and was told yes again. Now the stupid thing is at the dealer and has no sunroof. So I guess first thing in the morning I will take off work and go see what happens next. Why can't they just get it right?

Maybe it's not a mistake and your's will be here next week. That's a shame. It would have been cool to have a blue gold trifecta tonight.
I don't know if I should be happy for you or what. At one point, I hope it's not your vehicle and that the right order is still on it's way. At another point if it's your's, I don't know what to tell you. I haven't heard of a dealer messing up an order but I'm sure it happens. I'm sure they have another process to fix this. Let us know what happens. Good luck.
So it was ours. Without the sunroof. The salesman screwed it up. He ordered the chrome package and didn't use the restriction override code that needed to be put in since we live out of the approved areas. So we just got back from the dealer and got the total run around at first. The salesman is out of town until next week, so first we dealt with another salesman. He tried to locate one with what we want and couldn't find one any color within 1000 miles. So we moved up to the owner of the lot (Also our original salesman's dad) and were told he would call the regional manager and try to "push it through" since it was their screw up. We all know that will not happen. So we left with him calling us when he heard from the manager. It took about 5 minutes for us to get so mad about the run a round to go back. We ended up with the Enclave reordered for invoice and we are driving an used Acadia off the lot until our correct Enclave comes in. We did get that in writing. I guess that will ease the pain slightly. SO the LONG wait begins again. Maybe it will be our x-mas present. :banghead:
