i think that is what they are called, the handles inside the car that you hold to assist in pulling yourself up inside the vehicle.

now, with that said, i noticed the enclave doesnt have any and does anyone know if they can be installed?

I call them oh sh$t handles. There's none on the drivers side but there is one on the passenger side. It's not located in a convenient spot, though. For instance, if there was an accident, and the passenger grabbed the oh sh$t handle, they would smack themselves in the face when the side airbag deployed.
