Well, I guess I'm back! ;D

Work has been a bunch of turmoil, seems like all the management and talent left (I'm still there :banghead: ) :banghead:

But anyway, there's some bad news, good news.

I think that because the 1998 Maxima was undriven for nearly 4 mos. while I had that BMW rental, it really deteriorated. So I'm not fixing anything and donating it.....

And the good news is that I had been researching what to replace it with next spring, only that has become tomorrow.

Drumroll......a 2006 Lexus LS430. It was a FLA car for 8 yrs, but then the son of the original owner got it, and drove it in NJ for 2 yrs. It's got 80k. Except for a couple of scrapes on the front bumper, the body really seems mint, as if never hit nor painted. Per carfax and Lexus (nice website), when the original owner had it, he had every service done except 1 (every 5k?).

The BMW was for the most part good, had its airbag replaced, got new tires, found a great indie shop, but the stealership broke something on it and denied. Very surprised for a BMW. Neither BMW nor the dealer did anything about it, so I filed with the BBB, whom they ignored since they are not a member nor accredited! On to the next topic.....

Nothing to report on the Enclave. About 23 mos. left on the GMPP nothing has really broken and we're gonna get the Premier LTX next month. We're at 51k and there is tread left, but winter is coming.

Boy is turning 3 in Dec., he's well just a boy, doing the normal things that kids do....

Thanks for reaching out. And boy am I excited to pickup this Lexus tomorrow. My buddy said, "Welcome to the old man's club." And funny, most of my friends like this sort of car. I mean it was the flagship, and completely overengineered. The cooled seats have filters for the fans, I mean who would want dirty air cooling one's butt anyway?

btw the price you may ask, about $14k, below avg. for the year and mileage, and from a new car dealer....will post pics Sun. or Mon....

Welcome back! Hard to believe your son is going to be 3 already. :thumb:

I bet giving up the Maxima will be almost like giving up a friend. Longest I ever had a vehicle was almost 11 years and I still miss it at times now even 3 years later.

Still on the road at in laws but we picked up the new used car....like driving on a cloud, but in a controlled fashion (not floaty but smooth and controlled)

More details to come...poor Maxima, sorry old friend :)

I've been missing I action lately, too, so I'll send a belated "welcome back!"
Sadly, I think many of us have... there's just not a ton left to say after a decade (!!!) with these vehicles.

I started out on AcadiaForum.net, so my post count here doesn't reflect my time in a Lambda... So my apologies for seeming like a newbie, but I swear I've been in the Lambda Forum family for many years... (just looked; I registered on AF.net on April 20, 2008!)

I've been on the Nissan forum since 2000, and the BMW since 2006. Amazing how time goes by in a person's life...the one that took the cake was this active dude came back and said sorry fellas, I went away to the big house for 15 yrs but I got out early....

I even talked about Lucent stock with a guy on Nissan, that's how long ago it was....

I like the Lexus forum, seems like folks are enthusiastic about the car, some have 3 LS430....purchased used. It's like a secret high end value car....so many driven by retired folks, 10 yo and low mileage.....IMHO good combination when it is a long lasting car.

It is amazing how time flies! I was looking at some of my "I joined" dates around the web for places I use daily ...

DSLReports - 2002
TivoCommunity - 2002
eBay - 1997

I think eBay wins for "earliest account I still have ..."

So many are probably still out there that I forgot about over the years!

Enjoy the daylights out of your LS; those have always been luxurious rides. I'm a Cadillac kinda guy myself but I completely get the plush feel of a Lexus!
