I played a CD for the first time last week. When the CD was finished playing, I removed it and it was really hot to the touch. My former van and my home stereo have multiple CD players so I never touch the CD's.

Is this normal? I could swear I smelled hot wires burning after playing the CD. Hopefully someone out there has knowledge on this subject.

Thanks, Gramma

Every car CD player I've had the CD's get hot.

thanks for the responses. I guess I'll play more CD's and see if I detect that smell of wire insulation again. :)

You probably won't. Once the insulation is burned off, the burning stops!
