General Motors' Delta Township plant took another step toward full production. Crews put the pieces together on the new Buick Enclave this week, and the new crossover is already making a local impact. The Delta Township plant is giving birth to a fleet of Buick Enclaves.

Heidi Magyar, GM spokesperson: "It's a very exciting product. There is a lot of enthusiasm around this particular vehicle."

It's part of a new wave for the auto industry. The crossover SUV mixes innovation with style. The SUV can seat up to eight people easily. Under the hood, there's a V6 engine and a 6-speed transmission. There are also 19-inch wheels and newly-designed adjustable seats.

Douglas Rademacher, UAW 602: "We are building a few a day. We are really excited about putting these out on the showroom floor."

The excitement around the Buick Enclave can be felt at the plant, the union and even at local dealerships. Customers are already putting down $32 (sic) to get one.

The crossover vehicle is making a big splash, and it's made with the hands of men and women from Lansing's backyard. The Buick Enclave could arrive on dealer lots as early as mid-May.
