I have had my Enclave for 2 weeks now, and I can say I am as happy with it today as I was almost (gulp) 1,000 miles ago! YIKES! I guess I have been enjoying the drive.
I did learn an interesting fact just the other day about the engine in my Enclave, and I do not remember seeing it on this board, so I thought I would share. Apparently the 6 cyl. engine drops 2 cyls. when you get to a cruising speed. This does not affect performance, but does help with fuel economy. (I know there are some knowledgable GM people on the baord, so please correct, clarify, or refine what I have said.)
I do a combination of "city" and "highway" driving and am currently averaging 20 mpg.
I am still blown over by the quietness of this vehicle. I think I read another reviewer comment that you need to watch the speedometer, and I would heavily agree. 60 surprises you because it feels like you are going 40. So smooth and quiet. Even my husband independently made the same comment.
I have tried the "manual" transmission for the fun of it. I have always enjoyed cars with a manual transmission. It's not the same as having a stick shift with clutch, but obviously allows you some control over the shifting. I have not noticed how it affects fuel economy. I will continue to play with it.
Every day I go in the garage and admire that car again and again. I never thought I would have such a positive experience with a GM vehicle, but I have to say -- GM may be winning me over. :thumb:
