I don't know how mine is categorized but our insurance went up $60 every six months compared to an 03 Expedition. I think some have seen their rates actually go down a little bit. I know this has been discussed before, there should be a topic somewhere.

YES, I REMEMBER ASKING IT BEFORE BUT I COULDNT FIND IT AND I WAS HOPING THAT SINCE WE HAVE MORE PEOPLE WHO HAVE PURCHASED THAT PERHAPS THEY COULD GIVE US MORE DETAILED INFORMATION.
We have progressive and they don't know what to do with it yet - not in their system. The price went up vs a 2005 Town & Country, but by the time they get it all in the system properly, I expect it to be about the same.
hmmmm,

thats interesting to know don. ty
I don't know about the Enclave yet but when I checked with my agent about the Outlook the cost of insurance fell $10 per month vs. a 2006 Civic.

now, thats sounding good a drop in price.
I know, hopefully the Enclave will be about the same.

For Farmers, the price I was quoted for an Acadia was within a few bucks every 6 months compared to the Enclave.
Well, sad to say that, after the dust settled, the price change from a 2005 Town and Country to a 2008 Enclave is about a $140 increase for the year (with progressive). Mind you that's still only $1000, including gap insurance, which is an awesome rate for this area (suburb of Detroit).
Got the Insurance quote from State Farm for a $250,000/500,000 policy with 100 deductible, $457 for 6mo. :blob:
Got insurance quotes from Met Life and Allstate. For 6 months,

MetLife 366
Allstate 398

FYI, Metlife priced my 2004 Volvo XC70 at 362 for identical coverage. Allstate priced Volvo at 310.

Totally unrelated, MetLife would insure my home for for 572/yr while Allstate was 922/yr!!
Why doesn't OnStar lower Insurance rates :angryfire:

i would think it will because of the locator ability if lost or stollen.
You would think so, but when we talked to our insurance they said no discounts for it. Maybe I should be talking to someone else. Anybody else get a favorable rate for it with their company?
itsabuick, who is your insurance company?
I just can't get over Cyclops paying 572/yr for homeowners insurance. I'm moving to Charlotte!
State Auto.
WHEW I DONT KNOW THEM. I AM GOING TO CHECK W/AAA WHICH IS MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO SEE WHAT THEY QUOTE ME.

My insurance company discounts for Onstar because its considered a "vehicle locator" service (like LoJack). The discount gets combined in with the fact the vehicle does also have an alarm system (don't forget about that). Even GM's PassKey qualifies for discount because it cuts off the fuel pump if the wrong key is inserted. These discounts don't add up to much, but in NJ (where I live) we pay the highest rates so every little thing helps.
