The Enclave is picking up steam!!! Not bad for actually the 2nd month on the block. April doesn't count since they only had it for a week or two.

Here are previous months numbers that were provided by Admin...

Vehicle Jan Feb Mar Apr May Model Sales YTD
Acadia 1682 4283 5739 7487 9073 28264
Outlook 944 1900 2210 3592 4048 12694
Enclave 52 1853 1905

Both the Acadia and Outlook took a pretty steep drop in sales. The Enclave is following the Acadia's sales chart from month one to month two (assuming April's sales don't count for the Enclave).

I feel very comfortable waiting until Labor Day or later now for my Enclave. The incentives are going to show up sooner rather than later.
I think the overall trend line and how things will play out is likely a little early to generalize for the Lamba's. The Enclave has not been out long enough to get a real idea of the trend. Enclave may go the way of the Acadia or not. If you can wait then in the long run it is better but how long to wait to get the best deal and the best product is always an unknown. Wow sounds so philosophical.....
One thing is for certain...GM is sucking wind right now. These three cars certainly can't turn around a monster company like GM. Good thing for Buick sales in China!
Daily Production?

Does anyone have an idea about how many Lambdas are made each day? Thanks!

Don Willems posted the following on the saturnfans forum:

Without overtime we produce about 17520 units a month. But we worked both shifts last weekend, and are going to be working both shifts this weekend and second shift on the 19.

about 20% Outlook
about 50% Acaida
about 30% Enclave

DON IS ONE OF OUR GM INSIDERS.

It will be interesting in Canada what happens. The Enclaves start at $40,000 due to pricing and how they are optioned and top out at $60,000. Let's see if Marketing has targeted and hit the correct pricing and customers to sell these on a sustained basis for the price. The mid point of that pricing is at the RX and MDX territory. Pricing could have been at least $5,000- $8,000 less based on US pricing and dollar exchange. On a pure dollar exchange on the top end it is more like $10,000 difference.

Where did you get these numbers? I've been watching the GM media site and June numbers still aren't posted...?

edit: Nevermind. I've been refreshing the sales/production page every 15 minutes for two days and they posted it to the main new page this month! Argh!! Going to update the sales chart now...
I did a search on the Yahoo finance page "gm sales june 2007", after I didn't see it on the GM media site.
Interesting point is the total for June 14,500 is less than May 14,900 likely due to selling days. The Enclave rate is still not at the 30% mark of 17,500 monthly capacity.

They also had to stop production to change over to the 08 models for Acadia and Outlook. I'm guessing that contributed at least partly to their pullback. Still, more than 2000 units is a big downturn for Acadia.
Stopping production does not equal less sales. The change over to 2008 Acadia's and outlooks started about mid month. I have seen inventory of Enclaves in all dealerrships from 3-8 units in 5 different dealerships.
No dealer anywhere around has an Enclave on their lot... and every single one on its way is spoken for.

My observations are from Canadian dealers in Ontario 2-3 hrs away from the plant. The pricing in Canada may slow sales but what do I know compared to high priced marketing/sales experts.
Is an order considered a sale? I'm just curious if my order (June 15) is included in the June sales figures, or if it doesn't count until I take delivery.
Your order is not considered a sale until it is delivered to you.
It will show up in next month's (or Sept. or whenever you get it) sales figures

Exactly. Sales constitute a customer taking delivery of a vehicle and "signing on the dotted line". Whatever month that happens is when the sale counts for GM.
Well then, I'm hoping and praying that my sale will count in August!

I would suspect that the Acadia lost quite a few sales to the Enclave. Most of the dealer lots in my area still have between 0-2 Enclaves, with the most I have ever seen at 3. I think as combined GMC/Pontiac/Buick dealerships begin receiving more and more Enclaves and customers get to see both side by side, quite a few more will opt for the Enclave.

Here's a quick sales comparison with the competition from last month:

Lexus RX - 9,349
Acura MDX - 4,639
Buick Enclave - 3,659
Lincoln MKX - 3,400
Volvo XC90 - 2,860
Infiniti QX56 - 1,111

Acadia and Outlook - 10,875
Honda Pilot - 10,371

Looks to me the Enclave is doing well as production ramps up and inventories build. I expect the Enclave to be the number 2 seller in this upscale/luxury CUV/SUV segment. The Lexus RX will be tough to unseat considering the RX is also in it's last model year and will be replaced with a new model next year.
