This is my first post here. I found this forum yesterday which was great since I knew what to look for and what to ask about when I saw it today. I have an Envoy XL and when I was in for service I looked at the Acadia but was pretty sure I wanted the Enclave. They called me when they got the first one in yesterday. My very first impression when I saw it in the lot was that it was very rounded, lots of round curves, few sharp angles. The one I saw was White Diamond and was loaded. The chrome wheels are very hot. The body style is very catchy. The interior is nice with lots of wood trim, much nicer than the Acadia. When we test drove it the first thing I noticed was that it is MUCH quieter and smoother than my Envoy. Both my parents drive Lexus cars and it reminded me alot of their cars. As we drove down the road someone in a truck honked at us to tell us that he really liked the car. It is an attention getter! One thing I did not like was the sunroof. I live in Central Florida, it was 95 degrees today with about a thousand percent humidity and you could feel the heat coming through the sunroof. It does not close like a normal sunroof, it has this black mesh thing covering it on the inside, and I didn't like it. We went to the back lot and he showed me 4 more that GM brought in for some show they are doing down at Disney. They were not for sale and not prepped and very dirty but I saw the Cocoa one with the tan interior which I really liked. (there were 2 white and 2 cocoa) At this point I asked if I could take a few pictures because I knew from reading the forum that pictures are important and my darn camera had a dead battery, UGH!
Back inside, the sales guy said I could definately order one, that it would take about 8 weeks. (We were able to order the chrome wheels without the sunroof.) He said that it would cost invoice plus a $199 dealer fee. I am going to wait till July because I still have 6 months left on my Envoy lease but I am sure this is what I want. One thing I noticed that no one has mentioned is that you can't open the window on the tailgate on either the Acadia or the Enclave. My Envoy has that feature and I use it alot with grocery shopping. I also noticed that the view out the back is high, I think the back up camera would be very useful. It looks like for the one I want (which is almost everything except the sunroof and some kind of luxury package where the mirrors heat up and have turn signals) it will be about 41K. Hope this is helpful, sorry I don't have any pictures!

I ordered the following car today from our local dealer in South Florida:

2008 Buick Enclave
CXL 4dr SUV AWD (3.6L 6cyl 6A)

98U White Diamond Tricoat Paint

UZR Entertainment Package #4 Includes AM/FM radio with MP3 compatible CD/DVD player, Radio Data System (RDS), speed-compensated volume, TheftLock, Advanced Bose 10-speaker 5.1 Surround Sound system, auxiliary audio jack, DVD player, 8" overhead display, rear audio system controls with 2 headphone jacks, 2 sets of 2-channel wireless infrared headphones, auxiliary audio/video input jacks and touchscreen navigation system with backup camera.

PCX FTC Chrome Package (P65 19" Chrome Wheels and C3U Dual Skyscape Sunroof ) Includes 19"x7.5" seven-spoke chromed aluminum wheels and power front sunroof with rear seat fixed glass panel skylight and power sunshade.

PCK CXL Luxury Package Includes articulating headlamps, power tilt and telescoping steering column, 110-volt inverter and heated power-adjustable, power-folding body-color exterior mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators and driver-side auto-dimming.

PCI Driver Confidence Package Includes remote vehicle starter system, heated windshield washer fluid system and Ultrasonic rear parking assist with rearview LED display and audible warning.

V92 Trailering Provision Package Includes transmission cooler, wiring harness and factory installed trailer hitch.

MSRP from Buick: $46,120
Invoice from Edmunds: $42,212
Price given: $43,820 plus a $700 dealer fee plus taxes and tags and a 10% deposit because they had not planned on purchasing any AWD's in their allotment in our area. Most dealers in our area are offering only MSRP at this point so invoice plus $199 is a great deal. If my car cannot be purchased by the end of the conquest offer, the dealer agreed to splitting the difference (i.e., $500) at the time of purchase, but said the all the new lambda SUV's (e.g., Enclave, Acadia and Outlook) were developed for this program and chances are that it will be continued beyond the July 9th expiration.

This forum has been very helpful in my decisions in ordering. I am only sorry that I am ordering it without a test drive (i.e., except for a drive in an Outlook) since none of our dealers her in South Florida have a car yet, so maybe I will be heading up to Orlando for a drive.

I wouldn't sweat that too much. I also ordered based on test driving the Acadia. I would say the Enclave is all that and more. If you liked the Outlook I am confident you'll love the Enclave.

Gator, That seems to be exactly what I want except you didn't mention the interior color. Maybe I should order since the chances are very slim of getting one off the lot just like I want. I've driven the Acadia on the road, and I drove the Enclave in the Dealer's parking lot and I believe you will be quite happy with the Enclave. :blob:

Hey Gator - How much is the PCX package? It is only available in a few markets and I am curious how much you save with that. The rest of us have to order the sunroof and wheels separately from each other.

I took a closer look at the options I was looking at, I was pricing a CXL , FWD, in Cocoa (the white diamond is several hundred dollars more). (34,990) Standard 7 passenger seating (the salesman knew nothing about the console and it didn't come up on his computer as an option), the #4 entertainment package (DVD and Navigation). and the chrome wheels ($895). Also added the towing package. I did not do the luxury package or the driver confidence package, maybe someone can explain the advantage of these, since I have a few months to decide. The total I get through the Buick web site is $40,630, I think there it was about $41,500. He may have added a few small things in.
Also, I think the chrome package in FL is the standard prices for the Chrome wheels and the sunroof then they subtract $1000 at the end, which basically gets you the wheels for free if you get the sunroof. Has anyone leased one yet? I played around with some leasing numbers and it came out to over $500/month for 48 months, I know there are alot of variables in leasing but am wondering if anyone has priced out a lease.

In both the Buick website and KBB using the C3U Moon Roof and P65 7-Spoke Chrome Wheels and all Gator's other options, the MSRP is the same $46,120. So maybe there isn't any discount for PCX, only for convenience. ???

Sorry that I forgot to mention the interior color, which was Cocoa and Cashmere. I looked at the Titanium in a Buick Rainier and it looked to "cold". We saw the Cocoa and Cashmere in a Buick Lucerne and it seemed to be more welcoming.

We picked the light exterior color because dark cars in Florida get very hot inside, but some of the photos of the darker colors in this forum seem very nice in comparison. We did not take the cargo shade and cargo net option because I have the cargo shade of our current SUV a Volvo XC90 in our garage. We never used the shade because it always seemed to be in the way.

I do not believe that my package reflected a savings for the PCX package, which is basically a combination of C3U and P65. This is a combination code available in Florida, Texas and California. This was how these options were ordered at the time I placed my order. There may have been a discount that the dealer did not share with me in the deal? Or perhaps they may offer a discount in the future?

It is hard making choices without the real "McCoy" in front of us, but this forum is great for making all these choices.

PCK CXL Luxury Package Includes articulating headlamps, power tilt and telescoping steering column, 110-volt inverter and heated power-adjustable, power-folding body-color exterior mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators and driver-side auto-dimming.

PCI Driver Confidence Package Includes remote vehicle starter system, heated windshield washer fluid system and Ultrasonic rear parking assist with rearview LED display and audible warning.

I picked these packages because driving on a winding dark road, I have learned that the articulating headlights can be very helpful in seeing what may be around the corner (i.e., like a deer). My spouse and I are of significantly different height so the automatically adusting steering column is nice. We have a tight garage so the folding mirrors are a plus. Also important is having an inverter for a laptop or a gamecube for the kids.

The remote starter will let you cool your car before you get in and the rear parking assisit will help prevent running over your garbage can or your neighbors kids in your blind spots. Of course, I do not needheated windshield washer fluid system in Florida.

The second row console was not available and the dealer said that it may be as late as September before it will be made in production. He noted that the second row console will prevent children from accessing the back row as easy. We did get the seven passenger seating arrangement with the captain's chairs.

We are also trying to get the integrated assist steps, which are put on by the dealer. I could not get a price on that item yet.

I am also interested in learning about any lease options. The dealer said that there were no deals on a lease yet.

Be careful with the leases. I leased a car once, kept it nice, garage kept, turned it in 3 yrs later with 7700 miles with the intent to buy it. They wanted so much for the car, I ended up buying another new one. I swore that I would never lease another one. Check it out, it might work in your favor. I'm just saying be careful. :blob:

I just got my Order number today with the details of the order and interestingly the GM OrderWORKBENCH MSRP for the car I built was $1000 less (i.e., $45,120) than the one on the Buick Enclave site. So I do believe that there is a hidden discount for the PCX FTC Chrome Package (i.e., combination of C3U & P65) that is worth a grand!

I was also told my order was "red flagged" because of the White Diamond Tricoat color, because of the limited production due to the added time to paint these cars. I was told that this will delay the delivery of my car by an unknown amount of time at this point and I also was offered to consider changing my color to expedite the process. I am keeping the color and will update the forum when I learn how much a delay this will be.

Good for you all in the FL, CA areas. The rest of us slobs don't get a discount on the wheels and sunroof if ordered.

Do you think the R7C Residency Restriction Override might be all you have to add to also get the savings?
Sort of reads that way.

I don't know. I read the ordering guide (or whatever it is) a month or so ago and it was not clear to me what it meant. I am under the impression that doing that will not change the price in the non effected markets, but I do not know for certain.

I finally got to test drive an Enclave at our local dealer! :blob:
I drove the basic CX model which was Platinum Metallic with a Platinum cloth interior. It drove very nice, but I did notice an occasional hesitation with acceleration as noted by others in the forum. This crossover drives more like a sedan and is much quieter than any other SUV I have driven including the other lambdas. The drive was definitely smoother than my Volvo XC90, which I will be turning in after its lease. It really seems like a great car for the price after test driving the Quattro Q7, Mercedes GL450 & R350, as well as others with a third row. I am definitely happy that I placed an order in for my car, but was informed today that my car may be substantially delayed because of the white diamond tri-coat color. Can't wait to get mine! Still would like to see the cashmere interior in person.

Gator and Sunshadw, I don't understand why both of you had a MSRP 46,120, and I told my dealer to price a fully loaded one and it was $45,210. I think something on my price was left off. I emphasized "fully loaded with everything" and this is the price they gave me. White Diamond AWD blob:

I was also told that it might be as late as October before the Console is available. :banghead:

:banghead:The dealer called the Southeast Regional office and was told it might be as late as October. We are currently waiting on word of whether the Console can be added later. Personally, I don't believe it can, and I also don't believe it will be as late as October.
