Okay, I am new here, trying to take all this in and decide what I want on my Enclave. I keep hearing the term "lambda" and I am trying to figure out what a lambda is and why are you all calling this and similar vehicles "Lambdas"? I looked it up and the meaning is even more confusing to me... "junction in skull: the point of junction at the center of the back of the cranium between the rear plate of the cranium occipital bone and the two upper plates parietal bones. This junction is said to resemble the Greek capital letter lambda"....pertaining to this car, can someone explain to me why it is referred to as a Lambda? I would really appreciate that.

Now, on to my Enclave...I saw the Gold Mist Metallic last Wednesday and fell in love with it. That has been my delay in ordering. I wanted to be sure I found the right color. I am going in on Wednesday to get some numbers and see how much I can get for my '04 Rendezvous (probably not much, with 75,000 miles on it.) It is in excellent condition and is the CXL, FWD with leather and lots of nice options. I think I'll be lucky to get $9000. Oh well, time to move on to the Enclave. Have been waiting on this car for a year. Now, I just have to be patient! :banghead:

Apparently GM uses Greek to name their platforms - Lambda (as you have seen) Sigma is for one of the Cadillacs. If I knew more Greek, I would guess at a few others! I never looked up the actual translation and it may not even come to play, it could just be as simple as the Greek alphabet.

I had been scratching my head there for a while and actually stumbled on the above answer tonight in a thread at the motor trend forums.

I could be totally wrong but I think it is vaguely correct - and I am just a girl who knows not alotta about cars and never studied Greek or rushed a sorority!

Lamda?

I am a relatively new Enclave owner (Nov 11/08) and new today to this forum. I am finding it very interesting scanning the messages and discussions. I am glad to hear I am not the only one with lift gate issues - the exterior button (by the licence plate) has a short and it is in at the dealership today to be replaced. You should have seen the looks on the faces of the service guys when the lift gate went crazy in their intake bay! Anyway, I keep seeing references to "lambdas" and I can't find anywhere that explains what exactly that refers to. Can someone help?

Thanks!

Re: Lamda?

Thanks PARKAVE for helping out luvmyenclave, and WELCOME to luvmyenclave! That's great to see all the platforms listed. Now, you don't have to do this unless you have extra time on your hands, but where is the source that tells what cars are on each platform? I know some of them already, but some I'm unclear on. Just curious.
